DEATH PENALTY THEORETICAL
Just a theory, and i'm curious about people's opinions.
What if you gained +1 on the PVP number thing every time you killed a PC?
So if you've killed like 12 PCs and haven't been killed by PVP during this KILLING SPREE, you get 12 multiplied by whatever the formula was?
Discuss.
i.e supervillain who slaughtered all ya boiz, a hero emerges and defeats the evil, hes dead for like a week irl (month in game)
(and then the spooky return)

Sorry this sounds like the same reason that my Lieutenant of the guard cannot lock your evil murderer in a jail for a week RL time, cause it punishes the player OOCly.

I don't think any sort of "penalty" ought be given for a mechanical resolution to conflict roleplay, whether it be the killer or the fatality.

Re: DEATH PENALTY THEORETICAL
How does it make sense that the defeated heroes would come back any faster than a vanquished villain? I really feel like death in PVP isn't something that /can/ or /should/ be solved mechanically. The current death penalty direction is better with the adjustment from yesterday but I still don't really understand the purpose when it won't probably have any intended effects(if any real change at all.)

If the administration is set on having some sort of penalty, I for one would much rather see it on the head of the killer rather than the killed like the OP's idea.
Not that I particularly want to see the penalty at all.

Re: DEATH PENALTY THEORETICAL
Agreed on both counts. A penalty is demanding that roleplay & PvP be considered distinct, when we should be doing everything we can to more smoothly sub-categorise PvP as just another face of roleplay. You have many that think PvP is barbaric, lesser than, a "last resort" -- and that needs to change.Nitro wrote:If the administration is set on having some sort of penalty, I for one would much rather see it on the head of the killer rather than the killed like the OP's idea.

Yep, that sums it up in a heart beat, and will stop it.Nitro wrote:If the administration is set on having some sort of penalty, I for one would much rather see it on the head of the killer rather than the killed like the OP's idea.

With the announcer from Halo 3 calling out "Overkill" when a party is wiped out by a single PC?Cortex wrote:i want kill streaks to give bonuses and less death penalties

On a serious note I do not understand the theory behind differentiating PVP and PVE deaths. We need a clear message on what behaviour is being encouraged and what discouraged or I fear PVP will become taboo.

Apply pvp debuffs to pve deaths. Equality achieved.
