Re: Things that really grind your gears...
When someone starts following you in stealth mode, killing half of your XP, and they don't even step out to aid as you die.
Re: Things that really grind your gears...
"Following around for XP gain" seems terribly meta-gamey. It's not like your character is following them around thinking "Wow, watching these murderous hobos kill some bears is really giving me ideas on how cast more powerful spells."
Re: Things that really grind your gears...
But how else will I time when to jump out and sell healing kits at hideously inflated prices?
May you live in interesting times.

I'm pretty sure that's against an unspoken rule. As far as I know, people have gotten hard smacks for following others around in stealth as they grinded for extended periods of time, ESPECIALLY in the case of tanking XP.Twily wrote:When someone starts following you in stealth mode, killing half of your XP, and they don't even step out to aid as you die.

It grinds my gears when someone gets their gears grinded because I *nods* I can't type much more than that when we are moving in opposite directions because I type slower than most, so your gonna get a *nods* because I am fulfilling my gamer ettique by rping.
ps- it doesn't really grind my gears, actually makes me kinda laugh picturing people on the other side of the screen that hate it so much.

I have heard the same- Fortunately it wasn't for an extended period, it was just as I passed through two specific maps while cornered and unable to go any other direction.susitsu wrote:I'm pretty sure that's against an unspoken rule. I suspect that individual was there first and was circle-grinding those maps, and just opted to follow and watch as I showed up and fought, likely hoping for me to die to claim the area back or something... It could have been worse, but definitely was still very annoying.
Re: Things that really grind your gears...
What really grinds my gears is when you escort somebody (be they prisoner or captive or not) and they immediately do a 180 turn and run away as soon as you walk through a transition before them.

In their defense, that's why you normally walk behind your prisoners ,jokes aside that really is not a good attitude on their partXanos950 wrote:What really grinds my gears is when you escort somebody (be they prisoner or captive or not) and they immediately do a 180 turn and run away as soon as you walk through a transition before them.

When you win a bet in the cage fights and the RP tick hits before the dirty cheating imp gives you your cold, hard coin.

Re: Things that really grind your gears...
When a player pings for help on server 1
I swap servers to help but...
Then they swap servers and ping from 2
I swap back...
Then they swap to 1 and ping again.
Hnngh let me help you! Stay still!
Just a bit of fun, someone needed help but they kept rotating servers before i could transition and msg them
Just a quick bit of info! If you msg the DM Channel it broadcasts to all servers. So if a DM is around just sit tight for a moment so we have time to get to you. :p

I loved and I loved and I lost you... And it hurt like hell.

Logging on to continue crafting something... discovering that you left it in the last forge you were at... and the servers reset >.<

Re: Things that really grind your gears...
- Players being mute and silent for every 5 minutes, running around like a headless chickens while not waiting for others, not listening and not working as a team. As the cherry to the top their IC roleplay hurts.
- Not having anykind of description text which is still OK compared to the ones with the NWN's ready: "You left blah, blah, to proof, blah, blah, something etc." description text.
- No Half-Drow as free subrace.
- Too many humans, elves and their halfs, need more gnomes, halflings, dwarfs and half-orcs.
- Too many gorgerous "goody two shoes", need more gruff natured people like Bonzo.
- Wild random "chaotic evil" PVP-players appears and suddenly tries to kill me in Nomad, respawns and runs back for me to be killed again.
- Powergaming and grinding, people building their characters not by IC roleplay but by what is the most powerfull even if it does not make sense with the character: "Sure my nobleborn knight can suddenly know barbarian rage and sneak attack for no reason." and seeing them grinding the same place over and over again: "I just like to spend some quality time with the giants and trolls."
- No IC roleplay in sights.
- No people to go adventure.
- Hearing some DM-event happended the minute you logged off.
