Give Sorcerer Class Glowing Eyes

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:
- implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
- the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
- the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to tweak X class.

Give Sorcerer Class Glowing Eyes

Post by ArcanaFTW » Thu Feb 25, 2016 4:50 pm

Give sorcerers glowing eyes, much like the warlock, when they cast spells.

Why?

Multiple reasons, really. Sorcerer's are supposed to have been somehow born with a powerful affinity with the weave, and with the True flame and Weavemaster as proof of that. And yet, their spellcasting is almost indistinguishable from that of a wizard, from a spectators point of view. SHOW how powerful they are.

The other reason is that currently only two classes have access to glowing eyes. Warlock, and Monk. A player can figure out pretty quickly if the character in front of them are either of these things, due to the level 20 Monk movement speed, or the fact that they can punch their enemies to death. Often a character comes round and ousts a Warlock the moment they wander or scry on them, and that can be quite disheartening.

So, you give the Sorcerer the same effect from spellcasting as the Warlock, and you begin to create doubt. You meet a stranger on the road with glowing eyes, they have average movement speed. You can no longer instantly assume that they are a warlock and begin being hostile, you actually have to investigate warily. This also gives a lot of roleplay incentive to be distrusting towards a Sorcerer, due to misinformation or ignorance.
