Give Beggar NPCs a Script

Post by Maragaram » Thu Jun 04, 2015 5:11 pm

...to allow PCs to actually give them money. Right now, it's awkward when a beggar walks up to you and asks "Spare a coin, friend?" and you... can't do anything. You can't give them any gold, and if you drop it on the ground, they won't pick it up. And it's especially awkward when you're playing the kind of character who would totally love to give charity to some beggars but has no mechanical way of doing it.

So, yeah. Please give all beggar NPCs a conversation script which allows the PC interacting with them to give them gold. Something like...

1. Give 1 gold.
2. Give 5 gold.
3. Give 25 gold.
4. Give 100 gold.
5. Give nothing. (You monster)

Or, heck, just use whatever script they had in the original NWN campaign for beggars and sex workers. I remember they all had a script that let you give them various amounts of gold, with different responses based on how much you gave them.

This change would (hopefully) apply to all beggar NPCs universally, including the Roadside Beggars from the new spawn system and the Blind Beggar in Cordor's Lower District.
