Armour Durability Damage Timer

As my previous post on the matter was moved without due constructive comment/reasoning, I am returning it to the suggestion page:

Add a timer so no other armour or equipment piece can take damage within a period of time, say, 1/turn period after a durability point loss has occured.
Consecutive rounds of rolling badly due to the way the RNG process outputs numbers can result in several points of damage at once, even against targets far below your level on top tier armour.
A short enough period between rolls would still cause loss thus necessitating repair kits on longer journeys.

I should add for this repost however, that through questioning of several individuals, it is widely regarded as a negative thing to see several red texts appear declaring equipment damage in consecutive rounds.
