After replaying BG & BG2 recently in their EE format, one thing that I feel is missing from arelith (and NWN in general) is single handed weapon style.
This is where you wield a single handed weapon, such as a longsword, and nothing else. No shield, no second weapon.
This currently has the obvious negatives of :
vs Weapon & Shield - drop of upto 6AC
vs Two-handed weapon - drop in damage (typically the weapons have ~30% more base damage + 50% STR bonus.
vs Two weapon style - -2 attacks per round.
What I propose is to create a single weapons style, either as a path, or automatic if holding just 1 weapon, which gains the following based on BG.
+2AC
increase crit range
Increase initiative
Possibly this could also be supplemented by either increase crit modifier or an increase to parry?
An alternative might be that parry adds 1ac per 5 levels as per tumble, but only apply if 1 handed
If done as a path, or tied to a specific class/combination this could also increase with levels...
Eg. can't (won't) use shields but gets a trade off with +2AC/+1 crit range at start and +1AC/+1AB/+5 parry? every 10 levels.
One handed weapon style
