[I'm aware that max timers are considered unlikely but when playing in Bendir recently allies dying to Underdarkers twice a week wasn't unusual given that raids were everywhere from out at sea to the bottom of dungeons in the Spires.]

A timer can be imposed anywhere from under two hours to as high as thirty-two hours. I would like to suggest that the countdown begin upon entering the fugue. Players then have a choice; You can take the hit for logging out of the game, you can respawn with the exp hit and rp your stat decrease or you can remain in the Fugue to rp and get some kind of added decrease each tick on your penalty.

This accomplishes what appears to be the goal (removing characters from conflict for a fixed time) while still allowing the player to choose to play the game without being forced into a single direction.
