Are they meant to be spill-slingers with some utility in melee, front-liners with some utility in casting, party-support buffers?
What is the endgame gear? Right now, I'm planning on greensteel and using the spellsword as a flanking melee support with some direct damage spells, but is that "correct"?
Or are they meant to buff, equip armor and swing for the fences?

They can be stand alone melees. In end game their AC can reach mid 60s and AB low 40s I believe.

Do they have any utility as a DC-based caster with some minor ability in melee? Or are they basically up-trumped battle-bards?

Re: The Purpose of a Spellsword
You could play that way early game, but when you get to epics, you'll just end up being bad at both. Spellswords, as they are on Arelith, are meant to focus on melee. If you focus on casting, your restrictions will make you a less useful mage with no special abilities, and the cost of boosting your DCs will make you worthless in melee against anything that matters.DeflectiveQuestion wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 8:39 pmDo they have any utility as a DC-based caster with some minor ability in melee?
