Can't summon from stream

I'm pretty new here so I'm probably missing something (which is why I didn't go straight for bug report)

I'm level 5 and trying to cast summon creature 1 with demon stream activated and all I get is a badger. How do I make this thing work? I'm a neutral evil wizard

Deamons and Devils, and Celestials, and etc, are planar summoning spells. You'll need to cast lesser planar binding if you want to summon something from the planes.

The only books that effect Summon creature spells, are the elemental books when you're high enough level to trigger summoning an elemental. [As opposed to an animal.]
