Quickie Lore update questions

Post by Nitro » Sat Jul 07, 2018 3:44 pm

Lore & Streams
------------------------
- The Lore skill now allows for an additional chance of finding documents of interest when investigating bookshelves. This chance is based on base Lore ranks only, with the exception of the Legend Lore spell.
- After the next reset, memory prisms will be available as an Art recipe under Gems. Though their exact functionality will have to be explored in-game, these items will permit high-level casters to pass on stream knowledge to another character.
Three quick questions about the lore part of the update.

1: Does Bardic Knowledge count towards this?
2: Does Skill Focus feats count towards this?
3: Does INT count towards it? If so, base INT or modified INT?

Just base Lore ranks.

And the Legend Lore spell.

Doesn't Harper get to use that Bard instrument with 1/day Legend Lore?

Oh you mean the bardic mandolin which weighs 5.5 pounds and is the only of the 5.5 pound instruments to has a 95% chance to be imploded on a weight reduction enchantment, so it always stays in my storage chest? That instrument? :P

Sorry. My bard has noodle arms, plus she's carrying 8 other instruments!

Does this make you more likely to find books [That are also useful magical items?] or just books that are filled with text?

If the latter, what loot matrix are these 'extra' books drawn from, the same as the regular loot matrix for books, or a seperate one? If a seperate one, how does a PC contribute something to this new 'extra' lore?

I imagine that it works in the same way that Search does for chests. It's drawing from the same loot matrix, but giving you a second chance, possibly doubling your yield.

I had an opportunity to check this, and it's actually 18% for 10% Weight Reduction, and 26% for 20% Weight Reduction. That's totally spammable.

I think you can also use a cheapo blueleaf rune on it, which should be easy since they seem to be the least desirable.
