Do you need anything more than the new enhanced edition?

Hello,

Longtime roleplayer who spent countless hours in NWN that lost interest during NWN2. My wife is interested in trying RP and I thought this might be a good way to introduce her.

Is anything required to play on your server other than the base copies of the NWN new enhanced edition? (ie, are the expansions needed or anything?)

Nope. NWN:EE comes with everything you need.

We also don't use Haks, and never will unless Beamdog makes a satisfactory auto-downloader, so you'll always be able to log in hassle-free.

There are a few known bugs with the base game right now, so if you have any trouble getting up and running, post here and we'll try to help.

Nothing at all.

Though we do recommend using the Arelith Override Collection to ensure certain minor changes are displayed properly.

Its also worth using a good amount of the other override improvements if you really want the game to look its best. Especially these two:

I should also mention that if you're playing with your wife, you'll each want to have a different NWN:EE CD key, as Arelith uses that info to store things like the character vault and your Role Play Bonus.

there is a bunch of downloadable portraits that have been gathered and archived by Arelith Players available that might help when encountering other players... you will see less brown shadow-figures and more actual art.
