Place-ables in the wilderness

Post by Senshi » Sun May 13, 2018 4:59 am

Hello,

Im curious how place-ables in the wild work.

Im thinking of making a character that lives in the wilds but im unsure how the place-ables will be once i log off.

Ive noticed shrines in the wilds and then seen them gone soon after. Im unsure if they expire or just get taken by others.

I guess my main question is, If i set up a camp with a few place-able items and log off, will my camp be there when i get back?

I know players can take em or destroy them in rp or just because they want to but im more after the server mechanics information.

Placeables in wilderness act in the same way as placeables outside of wildreness.

As long as you're using fixtures, they'll stay after you log off, and persist through server reboot.

However, fixtures can be broken, stolen, or removed by their owners.

There are also limits on number of fixtures. 60 per location.

You'll see how close you are to the limit (in combat log) when you start placing them.

If you start camping out, I'd recommend to try locations with small number of beginner players.

I placed a mini-shrine somewhere once and after two weeks of dealing with it being moved around, I gave up. It would always end up being rotated by 45 degrees, moved, etc.

Incredibly annoying.

The char that has placed the shrine has been since rolled, but last time I saw the place someone moved one piece half way across a map and few days later someone else broke it. Having said that there are plenty of hard to find pieces to camp out at.

Have fun.

Character Bodies will vanish after reset if left on the ground.

placeables in the exterior are also subject to being wrecked by storms/lighting, and the occasional AoE damage should a fight of fireball-tossing wizards be around.
