Are the stat adjustments for subraces as stated in the subrace-thread outdated or am I doing something horribly wrong?
I just tried to make an Orog to fit into the basic "optimalbuild fighter"-template and ended up with stats that were really unplanned for:
Subrace Orog: +4 Str, -2 Dex, -2Wis, +2 Cha
Before selecting Orog:
Str 12
Dex 15
Con 14
Wis 12
Int 13
Cha 8
After selecting Orog:
Str 14 (only +2?)
Dex 13 (check)
Con 14 (check)
Wis 10 (check)
Int 15 (+2 whaaa?)
Cha 12 (+4 WHAAAA?)
(What I am actually trying to get at stat-wise:)
Str 16
Dex 13
Con 14
Wis 10
Int 13
Cha 10

Re: Trouble with Subrace stats-adjusment
Orog starts as Half-Orc, which already gets +2 STR, -2 INT, and -2 CHA. The changes you see after selecting Orog will be the difference between them. If you look on the wiki's race page, you will find the stat changes on selection for each race.
In the case of an Orog, you get STR +2, DEX -2, INT +2, WIS -2, and CHA +4.
An example, to help you understand, is: Half-Orc has -2 CHA, and Orog has +2 CHA, so when you select the subrace, you get +4 CHA to account for the difference.
To get the stats you want, you would need to start with 14, 15, 14, 10, 9, 6.

Hey, this now all makes sense! Thanks, PinataPlethora.
Now, I shall return to me fumbling of numbers and character sheets, muahahaha.

Re: [SOLVED] Trouble with Subrace stats-adjusment
Orog and Giant are the two races with the most stat changes, so they're the most confusing to plan for. Most others are much easier.
