Who's going to EE?
I assume most people will buy EE and move across when Arelith does, but I'm wondering how many will actually do this.
Who plans to move across? Who doesn't? (If not, why not?)

Beamdog 'bout to be riiiiiiiiiich...
Re: Who's going to EE?
Well, even if the entire active playerbase, which the latest update has at 1120 players were to move over all at once, that's a drop of water in an ocean when it comes to game sales. So no, I don't think they're going to become riiiiiiiiiich.PinataPlethora wrote:Beamdog 'bout to be riiiiiiiiiich...
That said, I pre-ordered like 4 months ago.

Re: Who's going to EE?
I've already bought EE, so I'll definitely be around when the time has come.
Re: Who's going to EE?
One question will going to EE kill being able to use the PGCC?
I will go EE, might take me a week to figure out how to install it properly, but I will convert.

I second that...Nitro wrote:Well, even if the entire active playerbase, which the latest update has at 1120 players were to move over all at once, that's a drop of water in an ocean when it comes to game sales. If everyone buys the standard edition and 100% of that money goes to Beamdog:
1120*20 US = $22,400
If everyone buys the deluxe edition and 100% of that money goes to Beamdog:
1120*40 US = $44,800
That's almost $20k off the average starting salary of one mid-level designer at game studios. Programmers make more, leads make more, studio heads make more...

I'd rather support Steam, and will be waiting for the game to go on sale on that platform.

I'm very excited for EE's launch, and very optimistic moving forward. I'll definitely be moving with it.

I think you can move the Beamdog key to Steam with no problems

Re: Who's going to EE?
There are a few things that happen before I buy and install EE:
1.) It has to be released (indicating it is a relatively complete thing)
2.) It is stable and relatively bug free and is not a hassle to install (meaning no errors and bugs keeping me from installing or playing it)
3.) Arelith has to have actually completed its migration by becoming up to date (meaning EE is now required to play Arelith)
I am not investing in product that is not finished or to buggy to even play.

Re: Who's going to EE?
All the convincing it took for me to buy EE was for regular NWN to crash three times.

Re: Who's going to EE?
My client goes through fits of randomly crashing over and over and over! It just sort of stalls or locks up (Not to mention the resolution glitches)
So far from playing EE I've not had this problem so yeah, ha for a fix like that alone I'm keen!

Me.
I pre-ordered, and after a day's hard work, with much help from Twily here on the forum, it seems to work.

Re: Who's going to EE?
It is 20 dollars? That is kinda lot for remake of an old game. But it is not optional so.
Re: Who's going to EE?
Ok ummm so once more does EE mean you can't use the PGCC anymore once you have EE loaded?
Re: Who's going to EE?
Out of curiosity, what makes you want to support Valve vs. Beamdog? The way I see the situation, is that Beamdog is doing the work to update the game and are simply using Steam as a platform to reach their audience. I'd love to hear your thoughts about this explained. That said, the game will be out on Steam on the 27th so if you want to wait for it to be on Steam then you won't have to wait long.BegoneThoth wrote:on sale as in available to buy.

Unless the person running the PGCC decides to update it to EE, you will not be able to log on to it.Sab1 wrote:Ok ummm so once more does EE mean you can't use the PGCC anymore once you have EE loaded?

Can't wait to uninstall NWN for EE.
