How to you make neat notes like this for boards?

Post by Seekeepeek » Tue Feb 13, 2018 12:07 pm

Trade Request Board: Join the Warhost!
The Glorious Warhost of the Sharps calls upon the children of the 'Dark to rise up! Long have the benighted fools of the Blighted Lands above known no fear or respect of their betters below.

The Sharps' Warhost is open to individuals of all walks of life and of all races*, provided they share in one common goal: DEATH TO THE SURFACERS!

Training, good pay, equipment and preferential treatment under the law are available to all those who would serve the Sultan, Ezra yi Murann, and enforce the edicts he lays out.

Those interested in recruitment should seek out myself, or place notice upon the recruitment board just inside the District House.

Blood and ash!
Blood and profit!
Death to the foes of Andunor!

Signed,
The Supreme Warlord of the Sultan's Warhost,
Toxinmaster of the Great Lord Ilneval,
Dark Scion of the Skullbiters,
Ront, son of Kra

*: No worshipers of Ogooboogoo will be permitted enlistment in the Grand Warhost.

You can input more text, as well as line breaks, using notepad++. That like should explain all you need to set it up.

Doesn't notes have a character limit though? Might have to split it up into a couple of notes.

o hallo

The bit up there about Line Breaks is correct, it's a magical formula for avoiding squares in your text that ever-wonderful Count of Monte Cristo and myself stumbled upon years ago. Notepad++ remains a free and easy-to-use tool (shameless plug) for creating aesthetically pleasant notes with clear line breaks and spaces between your paragraphs.

You can actually end up fitting a lot more onto a single note than you'd expect, since each note can contain 4 sections of 400 characters each - my note (the one you used as an example) only consists of just under 1000 characters, so I actually had another 600 letters, spaces and line breaks to play around with.

You can see the character count by highlighting the text and clicking on of the squares at the bottom of the Notepad++ window.

TIP you HAVE to put the /tp "MyName" into the macro. It won't work otherwise.

So I type out what I want. Check character count to see where I have to stop at 400 characters. And then put /tp "Anatida" before each section.

Then it is just copy/paste into the macro

My pronouns are: She/Her/That *itch

You can also do /w to save space (sometimes you need it) because of the limit that a letter will take per "line". That only matters for letters thought.

And a final note, press the okay button, don't hit enter.

By the way, I try to keep that article (originally written by me) up to date with any useful tips, if I've missed anything, I'd be glad to take suggestions on edits.
