Potion brewing viability and Organisations
Hello everyone, I haven't played on Arelith for a year or two but I have been sneaking around the forums occasionally, waiting for the opportune moment to appear on Arelith once again.
I have a question, is potion making a viable source of income with the current Arelith updates and such?
Secondly, what sort of organisations/groups/cults/guilds/etc. are currently active? (PM me if it's not for everyone's ears).
While I won't have much time to dedicate, I will be (hopefully) occasionally logging in, so if anyone was looking for a packhorse/henchman/gatherer/punching bag/science experiment/igor/extra/etc., I'd be around.

Can't speak about the second one, but if you find yourself a high level melee person, selling them batches of truestrike potions can singlehandedly finance most of your characters endeavors.

mage armor potions are really cheap to produce(40gp 4xp) as well, and sell very easily for 150gp a pop
Plays: Durvayas(deleted), Marco(deleted), Hounynrae(NPC), Sinithra Auvry'ndal(rolled), Rauvlin Barrith(Active), Madeline Clavelle(Shelved)
Re: Potion brewing viability and Organisations
Haste potions brewed from the feat also have a 10 CL, which is double the duration of the ones you find. Also, ultravision potions. A kensai will be your friend.

You can find both types of haste potions. One you make with herbalism are 5 rounds, yes.

Not to mention that their has been a recent mention of potential boosts to what potions can be crafted, the Brew Potion feat intended to be a boost to these more so.

Re: Potion brewing viability and Organisations
Just between you and me I have a huge thing for characters with BREW POTION feat, for the following reasons:
Haste, True Strike, Ultravision, Balagarn's Iron Horn, See Invisibility, Darkness and Remove Blindness;
Bonus points if you're a cleric since only they can make the powerful Silence potions. Note that Bull Strength, etc. has the same duration as wands, so kensai characters would definitely want them for longer adventures.

Necriong somewhat. How do you find potion-brewing currently, did the industry take a hit given kensai’s legacy status? Or all good barely noticed (all legacy kensais are online etc)?

Re: Potion brewing viability and Organisations
I can say I have a druid who would buy almost any interesting potion they could find, but they have a hard time finding any in PC shops. I'm surprised more potion makers don't hit the druids up since that's the most notable class who can't take a UMD dip and potions are the only magic they can use when shifted.

Knock is also an excellent pick to potion. It's a loot lifesaver, in pre-UMD dungeons.
May you live in interesting times.

True strike potions are still a staple of any melee wanting a quickie boost of AB for a KD or disarm.
Re: Potion brewing viability and Organisations
There's never enough Shield/Mage Armour potions around. Make some of those!

True strike potiins really enable peoole to break their ab cieling and does wonders with stuff like knockdown. They will sell.
