Basic Crafting Components

So,

I have seen the Update and I have seen the addition to the Crafting Menu, but.. What do they actually do?

Their are that many additions in the Crafting Menu lately it is a nightmare to keep up with and to find out whether it is even worth the trawl.

Where is this book available, I would absolutely love to stumble upon it..

I am very much lost with the crafting system at the moments and it is rather depressing as a player to be so, so far behind on all of the updates.

Someone showed it to me yesterday. I'm not sure if it's a random drop or what.

What specifically about the crafting system are you behind on? The recipes are IG and the properties can be found on the wiki or IG as well.

I for one don't understand why you can make something you have no idea what it does. Wouldn't it make more sense to be unable to craft them at all until you've read the book, or just display the item properties like all other items when you preview at a crafting station?

Well, I would really like to know what these Basic Crafting Components do.. I.E. the Forging and Blade ones, they have no explination on the forums or IC as far as I can tell.

Likely there IS an explanation for them. It''s just that it may be hard to figure out. Kinda like trying to play a good puzzle or adventure game whre the clues are there nut not the answer.

Is there a general sense of feats/skills you need to take advantage? Figuring out how the pieces come together in game is great but if it turns out you need to be a certain build to begin with.. Maybe that shouldn't be so FOIG?

Well the update specified crafting skills (which sort unknown, possibly relevant to any crafting skill that makes equipment?) and enchantment foci, but unknown yet if you need ESF or if that just makes it easier.
