Gift of Unique Favor

Post by Wytchee » Wed Nov 15, 2017 3:29 pm

What exactly does it entail? How has it been roleplayed in the past?

Does it make sense that, say, an elf would worship a Gnomish deity, or that a human would, say, worship a Fey deity because he or she believes they have unique favor with the Seelie Court?

Sarina has this feat, in essence if you as a human wanted to worship Correllion because you thought the elves were "totes-my-goats" and in some form or another sacred. You're golden.
But yes, you can have it in such a way that a divine bridge is essentially formed with the individual although God role play in itself will not occur. However you can easily be one of those less common worshipers that pop up now and again to remind us that 'x' God or Goddess exists.

In my example, she was made to be a human worshiper of Bahamut. (Reptilian = Kobolds)
Oh how times have changed.

In her case, her family line worshipped Bahamut as a tradition for an ancient family story. (Whether it's true or not who can say for sure.)

I have this for a gnome that worships Arvoreen, after reading there were several gnomes (Common allies of hin all over) who joined a specific knightly order of them.

(Also in Baldur's Gate 2 there's totally an elf that worships Baervan Wildwander as a cleric, so it's not unprecedented at all).

Keep in mind, that unless you play a divine class (Cleric, Druid, Ranger, Paladin etc) you don't need to take this gift to worship whatever you please. Nothing's stopping jimbob the human farmer from tossing a prayer in Gruumsh direction after all, he's just not likely to get an answer.

Aw, so I didn't need to waste the +.5 ECL?

Oh well. It's at least fitting for her situation, and lends some weight to it.
