Darkness Bug
Quick question. When darkness is cast in the same area my character is in, the entire area turns dark. I know this is a bug, and I have heard of it before, but I forgot how it is fixed. Could anyone help me out?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Darkness Bug
You need ultravision to pierce darkness.
Or do you mean the effect lingers after leaving darkness? The solution is to relog.

Re: Darkness Bug
It's an old bug, Peppermint, that makes the entire area go black even when your character is not in the area of darkness. I think it was a graphics card driver thing, but I don't remember for sure.

Re: Darkness Bug
Yes, I recall it being a graphics card driver issue as well. Does that mean it is unsolvable?

Re: Darkness Bug
Someone posted a solution to this a year ago, but I can't find it. Somewhere along the line mine broke again. >.<
RP only starts at 30 if you're a coward.

Re: Darkness Bug
Relogging, or casting ultra-vision on yourself will fix it. Relogging being the better option, since the loss of ultravision will plunge you back into darkness. Those are the only two "fixes" I know of.

Re: Darkness Bug
Ultravision does not fix the problem. You're talking about a different bug here. In the case I'm describing, the entire area will remain black until the actual Darkness spell has worn off. Also, I cannot really afford to relog in the middle of PvP or a boss-fight.iria_huntress wrote:Relogging, or casting ultra-vision on yourself will fix it. Re: Darkness Bug
It is related to graphic card issues (the bug with dark on screen)-.
Re: Darkness Bug
I think some people were able to fix it by installing an older driver for their graphics card, but i don't know the details. I might be able to find the old thread when I get home though.
Re: Darkness Bug
It's a feature! Looks like your character is suffering from nyctophobia...

Re: Darkness Bug
Honestly, I've never noticed that bug. I know that if you go into someone else's darkness while under ultra-vision, and the ultra-vision is dispelled in some form or fashion, you go mechanically blind. Even if you went through it 30 minutes prior, and the darkness had worn off. Recasting ultravision is a work around for that bug. Relogging and server transitioning does fix it.
That is the old "darkness bug", so that is what I assumed you meant. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Darkness Bug
That's because it's a bug that affects specific drivers for specific graphics cards. Some people will never notice it.
Re: Darkness Bug
As far as I know this bug affects the Intel hd 4000 series I had a laptop once with that GPU. What also happened was that sertain ways of implementing invisible walls that some servers use will show up for those people as red untexured walls.
