Laurick conversation - Is my character bugged?

Tried to travel with CPT. Laurick, but he said, "get the ----- off my ship, I'll not trade or travel with your like!"

Weird thing is, the character is just an elf.

I tried it with another just an elf...worked fine.

Is my character bugged or is there a deeper magic here?

Hrm...

I've got two possibilities....no three.

1) Yes, it is a Sun Elf. And CPT Laurick himself has weighed in on this.

2) Its an old character that took slave background (for the +1 to fort!) before slaves were actually a thing. Now I'm thinking this is the most likely culprit.

3) Was infected with lycanthropy but auto-cured with monk levels.

Do we have a winner?

Odd that the slave background triggers this, when in no other way does my character function/activate any of the current slave mechanics. Though this is a low priority issue for any kind of fix.

Is your character evil aligned?
He might think you're a drow in that case using the same script that causes a specific NPC in the underdark to accuse any good drow of being a surface elf.
