Old Ranger

I have been away for a while due to various reasons and have a toon with ranger class levels from before the ranger update. I was just curious as to how the update will affect him. Will he automatically get all the new ranger goodies and skill points to balance out once he levels up or is he stuck with old ranger? If the latter do I have to roll him and start again if I want the new ranger stuff or would someone be able to help shift his levels to the new ones?

All the ranger updates were retroactive - though I believe the skill points will require either:
a. a delevel/relevel of your most recent ranger level
b. a new level, then a ranger level taken
