I find that even at 86-96% piety i am unable to pray to get my rest out of the minus numbers. even if i havent prayed for over two ingame days.

trying to capture duncan he was able to pray literally every 20 minutes and escape capture getting full HP and knocking off all negative effects to boot, all the way down to 40 piety.

Is Chauntea really that stingy? or is Tempus just an absolute bro.

I feel like I've noticed differences between how often different deities respond also, but I'm pretty sure the official explanation is just that gods are fickle. I'm with you though: I don't think they are all equally fickle!

Perhaps unrelated, but over the years I have noted differing frequencies for pretty much all of the 'god' effects. Certain deities seem to God Raise more often, some are far more stingy than others at the basin, and so on. Perhaps this is mere case of confirmation bias, but I've always thought it to be the case.

In the old deity system the deities had Presence and Power based on how often sacrifices are made to them at altars, and the higher the deity's presence, the more likely they were to grant prayers. The new system has nothing like that that's documented, but Mithreas likes to have systems that are mysterious.

There are okayish reasons to think that maybe the number of followers (or the amount of sacrifices, or something) influence how often a particular deity answers prayers, but you're never going to get an official answer apart from "The gods work in mysterious ways"!

I'm reasonably sure they've tweaked downwards the likelihood of even high Piety values from firing recently.
