Shadowdancer questions
Does the shadowdancer summon have a fixed 1d6 sneak or does it grow/benefit from its own aura?
how long does it last?
if i were to go kensai sd.. would the summon copy teh haste?

Re: Shadowdancer questions
"The Shadowdancer gains a d6 sneak attack per three levels of the Shadow when standing near it."
I assume the duration remains as vanilla, 1 hour/SD level.
And, no. I don't think it copies your buffs - only your appearance, but I'd be intrigued to hear otherwise.
Finally I can start whiping wiki links about again!

Re: Shadowdancer questions
it does copy your buffs as well, or at least it did last week, meaning you can cast grace or whatever on yourself, summon the shadow, then cast grace on it for a double buff, might need fixing
Plays as the monster in your closet

Re: Shadowdancer questions
Interesting.
Do they copy the equipment buffs as well? If they don't, I'd argue that they are fine with the "double buff".

Re: Shadowdancer questions
not sure about skill buffs or AC, but stat buffs yeah

Re: Shadowdancer questions
From my understanding of the update the shadow itself has static 1d6 sneak attack that doesn't change (probably needed for it to have Crippling Strike, is my guess).

Re: Shadowdancer questions
I'll piggyback on this thread. Would a summon be able to use double sided/duel weapons without major debuffs?
I think it would make sense for the summon to gain the users speed buffs, like from Kensai and monk speed, but can't confirm nor deny it.

Re: Shadowdancer questions
I've actually been rather curious as to why the shadow doesn't have weapon finesse, what with most shadowdancers being dex-based.

Re: Shadowdancer questions
I wonder if Shadowdancers would get like a free portal or way to access the shadowplane

Re: Shadowdancer questions
The three last things I hope to see implemented.
If the Shawdowdancer has dual-weapon feats; so does the shadow.
If the Shadowdancer has weapon finesse; so does the shadow.
And while I don't think they had any ability to go directly to the plane of shadows, it'd be a nice if they had something special for it.

there was a place once when shadow walk for shadowdancers worked almost like a mini dimension door 30 feet in a given direction.
and druids could tree walk from anywhere to their chosen place of safety with a branch item ( single use per rest teleport item)from level 15 of druids in this case
so why couldnt shadowdancers at a certain level like hips get an item that lets them step into the shadowplane??

Re: Shadowdancer questions
The duration is vanilla.
Stat bonuses are copied.
The shadows do not have dual-wield/weapon finesse feats by default, but will be granted them if their master has those feats.

Re: Shadowdancer questions
Sorry, you'll need haks for that. There's no way to pink-skin a pony without them...
You could use a red-ish aura, if that helps?

Re: Shadowdancer questions
Hey, I can actually confirm that one!
They don't seem to get any class buff at all. At least my shadow isn't getting any of the kensai or monk ability. Not Haste, not Freedom of Movement, not the UBAB.

They only copy physical stats. That's all.
