Portal Lens won't trigger if cross-server destination
As the title, the portal lens gets used up, but nothing happens. Relogging doesn't fix it.
Re: Portal Lens won't trigger if cross-server destination
Relog into the server you targeted. That is, if you're in Cordor and lensed to Skull Crags, if the lens fails, log out, log into Surface, and you should be in Crags.
Re: Portal Lens won't trigger if cross-server destination
This occasionally happens when the target server is too busy or down. If you log out and log in directly to the server you wanted to go to then you will appear where the portal would have taken you.

I've tried that. Over the last week, any portal lens I've used across multiple characters hasn't worked. Logging into the other server to try and trigger it has put me back on the original, in the place where I lost the portal lens.
Re: Portal Lens won't trigger if cross-server destination
This is still a problem, seems to happen at really important times. :/ Lenses are expensive and characters don't always have multiples for trying again and again.
If the problem can't be fixed, then why not change the order of operations so that the item is removed from inventory after the portal is initiated?

I've had this happen. I logged off the character and logged into the server I wanted to be on. I was taken there, but then later on when I transitioned back to the previous server.. I found myself in the spot where I had originally used the lens.

If the portal fails you should get your lens back unless that was removed at some point in time.

Can confirm. My partner and I tried to portal out of the UD to a surface portal.
Got the "transitioning" message, got booted. Logged back in and was back in the UD with no lense.
This was pre-Hak. If that matters.

When that happens it means the server is actually up but the booted thingy is an EE bug that's been around since launch. You only get the lens back if the server is down or it cant transition you in anyway. If you get the booted message you should be able to join the server you wanted to lens to and it will port you to the right spot, hopefully.SteelsSweets wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 8:16 pmCan confirm. That is what I thought it would do.
I logged into Surface and the game kicked me back to UD.
