For Reference, as I will look into the cause of this
Description of Bug Experienced:
Bonus spell slots gained from items on Spontaneous casters (Bard, Sorc) do not allow to "promote" spell with metamagic to a higher slot anymore. This was 100% working before EE so it does look like actually an EE bug.
This may have implications on other classes.
Steps to reproduce the Bug:
1. Be a Bard or a Sorc
2. Get a metamagic feat (silence spell, or anything will do)
3. Enchant an item to give You a spell slot of higher level then You should be capable of casting (lets say give a Sorc spell slot lvl 3 when he is stil capable of casting only lvl 2 spells)
4. Rest and verify that the metamagiced spell is now "available" to cast on Your action bar
5. Attempt to cast the metamagicked spell
Expected Result:
Character is able to cast the metamagicked spell
Actual Result:
The cast will not happen and You will receive an error message: "No uses or preparations left for this spell"

Re: Bonus Spell Slots for Spontaneus Casters
I’ve recently tested this on a True Flame with a Ring of the Nomad and was able to cast maximized Magic Missiles without any issue.
Does your character have the necessary CHA score to access the new spell level?
