If you apply temporart essence on blade of elements it works fine,
If you apply pernament essence all original weapon property (elemental dmg) is lost.

Permanent essence overwrites any and all elemental damage properties on an item. Usually, it just replaces the previous essence. In the case of a Blade of Elements, it replaces everything.
