-project_image attunement

Post by Orian_666 » Thu Mar 15, 2018 5:27 am

Pretty sure this is more of an omitted thing rather than a bug but i'm putting it here anyway.
When someone with SF: Divination examines someone else they get to see that person's attunement, life, death, fire, earth, air, or water. That's all well and good.

However someone with ESF: Div is supposed to be able to examine an illusion from the "-project_image" command and tell if it's an illusion or not, so long as their CL is higher than the illusionists.

I'm not 100% sure if that's working as intended, but it's not the point of this bug, the point is that the illusion created from the -project_image command doesn't have any attunement (like any NPC) so even a level 1 character with SF: Divination is able to tell which one is an illusion and which one isn't.

Even someone wearing the Elven Ceremonial Armor can tell if it's an illusion or not by using this method.

It just feels a bit redundant to have the ESF: Div ability to determine if something is an illusion or not if anyone with SF: Div can do it anyway. So it'd be nice if this could be fixed and illusions get the same attunement as their caster. Thanks

Unless something has changed, you can easily tell that it's an illusion/NPC by simply right clicking on it and noting what is and isn't in the radial menu.
Characters: Xun'sali (ACTIVE), Tianae Tymeaneldth (Rolled), Sylali (Rolled), Magpie (Rolled), Ker'uanna Tymeaneldth (Rolled), Lepota Poklona (Rolled), Andariel Bloodletter (Shelved), Tahl'tril Cyredrretyn (Rolled), L'omithiel (Shelved).

That would also explicitly be metagaming, though.

If it comes down to it then Divination is really just metagaming with extra steps.

Metagaming is taking information available to you (but not to your character) and having it influence their actions. Divination is not "metagaming with extra steps" because it specifically provides more information to your character.
Rolled: Helene d'Arque, Sara Lyonall
