Gem Pouch bugs

The Gem Pouch does not accept cut Aventurines.

The Gem Pouch also isn't accepting gem dusts. Someone says that you can add them manually, though, you just can't auto-shlurp them into the pouch.

(other than that, this thing is awesome, mad props for adding it! I HAVE BAG SPACE AAAAHHHHH)

I was the one that mentioned you gotta manually add the dust, so if you need confirmation~

There's been a reset but still not accepting the Aventurines, what's a live build ?

It's when I send the recent work from the team onto the next live build of the server, which then happens after a reset. I've just done this now, so let me know if it works after the next reset.

Mine won't accept Pearl, Fire Agate, or Aventurine.

So...it seems gem pouches may not like gems with custom names. I just had a few dozen at least placed into my character's gem pouch, but the pouch shows the custom named ones as having (0) of them.

These screens are from the battle log showing the gems being placed in the bag:

Then when I tried to pull out one of the gems he just put into the pouch, I got this message from the battle log:

The gem dust and the crystal showed that there were one of each in the pouch, which was correct. Sadly, as can be seen, all of his cut gems show (0), despite the fact that there should be a few dozen all together at least (or close to it).

I can only guess that the pouch does not like items without the default names. Is this something that can be fixed, or should we only keep default gems/items in them for now?

This is very peculiar. Containers like the hunting bag, mining bag, gem bag, trap bag work by basically being told a list of 'accepted' items by their tags. When they're 'added' to the container, the container identifies what the item is, how many, any customization (their name and description), and saves all of that to itself. When an object is retrieved, a new one is created from the palette, the saved customization applied to it, and the quantity saved to the container incremented down (or deleted).

Re: certain gems not being accepted, there have been issues in the past where gemstones that didn't have vanilla tags caused problems with crafting and the like, and it might be the case here? That's speculation on my part though. You can test if that's the case yourself by handing the pouch to someone else and seeing if it accepts their gems of the same type.

Re: pearls, I didn't even think of them! They'll be added to the list of accepted items.

Re: custom-named gems, that particular error message (thank you for the screenshots!) shouldn't happen. I have a suspicion of what might be happening but will need to check.

Perhaps its a matter of long names for Griefmakers gems? I was able to add Rubys with custom names (signed by the one that cut them).

That was actually something I was wondering about too. The battle log shows that there was a long name by a long-winded person for each gem, but the name in the gem pouch is abbreviated.

It is just Arelith's way of telling me to stop typing! :)

The pouch doesn't accept tainted gemstacks. (The ones you can't use in any crafting until you fix them with a freshly cut one.) So that may be a reason that it doesn't grab certain gems.

On the Surface server right now, and neither the cut forms of malachite, greenstone, nor garnet will go into the gem pouch.

EDIT: Checked C&P, and having the same problem.

If certain gemstones aren't going into the pouch, could you first test to see if another character can put their gems of that type into the pouch (don't give them your gems!), or request if a DM can replace your gems? It's also important to know where you acquired the gems, because to my knowledge most issues like this are due to gems dropped with incorrect tags from the loot matrix.

The gems I got that won't go in the pouch were acquired in different levels of the Temple of Auril.

Are the vendors accepting these gem bags the same way they accept the contents of the jewelry boxes? This would be incredibly convenient.

Is the the only way to sell the gems out of the bag to remove the gems one by one into your inventory and sell them individually?
