Using heroic shield on a summon also makes me guard it, but this is a rather big downside and I hope it is a bug.
I had added purple dragon knight to a wizard for extra support abilities and I still have that after the change, so all is good there, but forcing me to guard the summon and thus draw extra attacks towards me is troublesome.

Re: Heroic Shield Forces Guard
You can turn it off if need be, which is nice because it lets wizzers and warlocks with strong summons have the summons tank, while druids and rangers can finally keep their paper maché animal companion from dying. The new Heroic Shield also applies a -guard effect to the Ward by default. This can be toggled off and on by targeting Heroic Shield at the Ward while its effects are still active. The Ward benefits from improved effects of other PDK abilities regardless of if the PDK is -guarding them or not.
