8 Ranks in Ride not giving horse-riding ability

As title. I'm not sure if it simply hasn't been changed yet, or whether it is a bug. Currently have 8 ranks on a new character, unable to ride a horse. I get the 'You must have the gift' message.

My dexer wizard without any ride ranks can ride.

So it must not be checking for ranks then? But I have 11 for the modified skill.

I just checked if I could mount a horse with only 7 base ranks and it worked. So there is definitely something still wrong with it

I was playing a paladin BTW, 3Pal/1PDK

You can select 'Mounted Combat' on levelup at the moment, probably another oversight?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't do anything on Arelith, so it's just a wasted feat if someone selects it. So, slightly better than Circle Kick.

I noticed it was fixed after a recent reset, it checks for the skills points properly now. However I just leveled up a paladin/PDK of mine to level 5 and put my 8th point into Ride, but when I try mount a horse with him it tells me "You much have 8 ranks in Ride to do this.". He does have 8 base points in it, I thought it might be that my total was 7 with negative dex but after chugging a cats pot and bringing my total ride to 9 it still didn't work.

Confirming I can not ride a horse either, despite having 8 ranks as a paladin.

Friend has 8 ranks, 13 dex, cannot ride (told he needs 8 ranks).

Just confirming that there's still something preventing some people from mounting horses. Can assign them to group, but 'Individual Mount' isn't working on ether server. Have 8 base ranks ride.

No error message at all, simply doesn't seem to work at all.

Just a heads up that this still seems to be a problem. You can make any new character with no ranks ride and they can ride a horse, but seems like some characters with the 8 ranks can't.

on my 23 level pally with 10 ranks in ride 5 natural and 5 spurs - I don't even get the mount submenu on the pally radial

Just to clarify, this issue is occurring for people with 8 base ranks in ride.

@dreams Check after the next reset, I've rewritten the function that checks whether you can ride which should stop people mounting with no ride, might help you too but I doubt it :/
