The spells you gain at infinate casts per day from having the appropriate spell focus's cannot be cast on placable objects, they also do not proc Wildmage surges.

As far as I know the surge thing is on purpose. Which one are you trying to put on a placeable?

It's intentional.

You cannot cast them directly on objects. That is intentional.
