Deep Gnome +4 AC not working

Post by chowdah » Tue Apr 18, 2017 3:02 pm

Starting playing a deep gnome and it says that it gets AC +4 vs. creatures except Giants, but when I am fighting and have 29 AC I get hit on 33. When I had 31 AC I got hit at 34. I have the dodge feat and small size, so it seems the +4 is only giving me an extra +1 and not +4.

I am a kensai so I am wondering if haste is messing up the +4 AC ability.

The AC is implemented poorly (not by the current or even last devs). It's applied as deflection ac vs racial types, except giant, to your creature hide, so it doesn't stack with other deflection sources.

Is there plan to change that to dodge (or orog/ogre type natural armor) in future, so that it would stack?

If we configure the AC type of creature hides to dodge (which IIRC we can do in the 2das) then that should solve this I think.

Subject to the PC not hitting the +20 global dodge cap.

Could just make it an effect too. Like a tiefling's elemental immunity.
