You get Unable to resolve hostname on MTR because of the port.
Please enter 138.201.20.77 instead of 138.201.20.77:5124 in the host box and hit start and login to Arelith.

If you see high % in the Loss% column after a while that mean you have packet loss.
You can post the results here by clicking copy text to clipboard and pasting it here.

But, then I will probably ask you to try https://www.tunnelbear.com/, it has 500mb for free, or something similar, so you might as well try that first.

I did a diagnostic with WinMTR and this was the result, looks like I have mild packet loss.

From the looks of it, I have mild packet loss on most outside of one.

Ive got 0% packet loss to Arelith, pings averages in 120s-130 ms, and I still get lag-spikes to the point that it just killed my character...again. I play Skyrim et al on high graphics with no issues, so please don't tell me its my rig. Might there honestly be something on the server performance side we needs investigate?

Sidenote:
If you have something client-side going on and you are running Windows 10, you might want to check this thread. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11053. Note: what I am referring to above is NOT client side.

1. Did you played Arelith for a while while running the test?
2. Did you have problems playing?
3. Do you need a step by step guide on how to try https://www.tunnelbear.com/?

1. Did you run MTR while having lag spikes on Arelith and it showed 0% loss?
2. I assume he lag spike occur during battle mostly?

If yes it might be an FPS issue. It has nothing to do with how strong the computer is. On the contrary newer XYZ sometimes makes problems for older games.

Please try every option on this page.

Also, try playing window mode and kill explorer from the cntr alt del.

.
1.) I had the game running with the WinMTR program running in the background for about 15-20 minutes.
2.) Yes, it was running at about 1 frame every 5 seconds, LITERALLY unplayable.
3.) I got tunnelbear working, it just didn't help.

I found a solution, and it was related to a recent update for Windows 10.

As RedGiant posted above, go here for the solution viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11053

And Dallion seems to have solved some of my nagging/lagging/remaining problems with the stupid sound settings...of all things. Unbelievable.

I am glad both cases were resolved, there is few things annoying as lagging in a game you adore.

P.C
Some problems require a lot of back in forth in order to achieve a solution. Providing accurate information from client side, especially if asked directly by support, is necessary for faster problem allocation and resolution of such problem.

The game, forum and portal went down for about 6 minutes just now, just not allowing anyone to connect or see the forums respectively. Upon logging back in, it was as if the server didn't crash.

That's what happens when the Internet Connection on our server goes down for a while. Servers keep running, but no one can access them then.

Is it just me or the surface server lags terribly?

With this reset I fixed two base game crashes (which are the two crashes since the 'weird crash' fix). I'll keep fixing any more that show up, until they are all gone!

Yesterday and Today I've been consistently lagging badly on Cordor, but not the Surface. It takes 3 minutes just to load the first screen, and a long time to transition anywhere. This is across any character or username

Surface play is normal.
