Palemaster bug ?

I'm wondering how this works.

The necromancer update states

"Circle of Death HD limit is equal to Caster Level, if Caster Level is above 9."

Now, i had another character summon a lvl 12 summoned creature, and tried circle of death on it.
Circle of death normally doesn't affect creatures above 9 hit dice, so i tought with the limit removed, i'd be able to kill it. Still, no effect at all.

Is this a bug ? Or does it work differently than what i tought ?

I've got 7 wizard and 7 palemaster levels. Palemaster counts fully for necromancy purposes. (7 wizard 7 palemaster, 14 total)

Are you sure you broke both:
a) Spell Resistance
b) Fort Save

Circle of Death doesn't work if one of two isn't beaten. http://nwn.wikia.com/wiki/Circle_of_death

Target didnt roll fort or spell resistance at all.

Can confirm i'm now 10/10 wiz/palemaster, and which means a total of 20 CL for necromancy spells, and circle of death has trouble affecting most drider types.

I guess I'll resort to crazy undead summons for my drider killing needs instead :D

Yes, this is still not working. Additionally, PM levels still don't count 1 for 1 toward beating SR checks when casting necromancy spells.

Fixed.


I also didn't see anything wrong with the sr check, so if it's not working with certain spells, then supply what the spell is.

There was a bug where it wouldn't give back proper feedback, just ignore the purple text when it comes to spell resistance checks and look at the yellow text.

Spells in which it is not working correctly: scare, vampiric touch, fear, IGMS, horrid wilting, wail of the banshee, flame brand. To be fair these are the only spells I tested. All of these spells were also resisted with a mordenkainens disjunction applied on a drow with an effective 22 spell resistance. If need be I can send you screen shots of all of these tests as well.

For some reason my pale master lost bonus AC from "Bone skin" feat (death probably caused it). With 8 pale masters levels he only have 12 AC (+2 AC from "Bone skin" added on lvl 8, but bonus AC from lvl 1 and 4 were lost).
