Re: Age ratings and Arelith policy.

Lol get real people... most kids have not only already heard things like the F word but use them constantly when parents are not around. Same thing with any other thing considered not for kids... they already seen it, heard it, and done it. Hell i went by the school today and heard a bunch of 6 yea...

Re: Age ratings and Arelith policy.

I agree with some of your conclusions and apreciate the fact that you actually put thought into it, but from what I recall and have seen over the years, the PG13 and the way the different Dev and DM teams have dealt with it, has always come down to the same notion: It is just easier to err on the si...

Re: 24 Hour rule and avoidance.

This is where stuff like "bending your rp" for the sake of the greater good comes into play. If you focus more on the fun everyone is having rather than the (very easy to fall into) trap of winner vs loser, this kind of situation can be easily solved. Also, I doubt any dm would be upset if one playe...

Re: RPing insularity (wild elf, ghost hin, outsider, etc)

For me, back when I was playing my own skittish, very stealthy wild elf, what helped me with this dichotomy of lone wolf vs interactive rp, was focusing on "moments". Whenever he did interact with other people, no matter if it was friendly or hostile, I always tried my best to impart on the other pl...

Old Steel

Prologue I sit outside an empty house. Its silence presses upon my shoulders. The open windows whisper about nothing. With my back turned and my eyes closed, I know this house. I know it to the bones. My hands placed every brick and built every wall. The mortar a mixture of dreams and love. From he...

Re: Critical Feedback...Discord, Bans and Feelings.

The problem with stuff like Discord is that it forces us to walk a very fine line. Arelith , since forever, has been designed from its very core to be played without any need for ooc comunications. All you have to do is log on and play. When programs like Discord, Skype and others come into play, th...

Re: Ghestaldt's Final Kudos

Oh man. I have no idea how Ghestaldt departed IG, but if there ever was a character that deserved to be imortalized in the module, he sure as hell is one of them. You managed to do something very difficult with Ghestaldt as a character, something not many could, which was to play someone who was str...

Re: Arelith Play Time?

I quite often find myself thinking of people I have played with here over the years. People I miss.

Also, 12 years for me I think. Summer of 2006 after a bad breakup was when I decided to give Arelith a go and the escape it provided was oh so comforting.

Quite a few of my characters were affected by the deeds of yours, and I was very happy to finally have one that would interact with you more often.

You are one of the very best.

Re: What do you seek in an antagonist?

The best memories I have of a character antagonistic to mine are about Ayin Mesmer. Even though it wasn't an overly dramatic and epic relationship, there was something about it that was very compelling. I can not speak for Kuma, but for me, way back then, it often felt like a bit of a chess game, wh...

Re: Forum Behaviour, Lets all do better

In general the forums have been a vastly more polite and civil place for discussion over the past few years. A lot of it is because of how the community itself has matured (a lot of the poor behaviour we used to see in the past tends to be policed and shunned by the players themselves), and also bec...

As someone who has quit the general Arelith discord a handful of times I must say that it has gotten a whole lot better. The levels of shitposting, trolling, useless meme talk and just overall douchebaggery have decreased by a whole lot. These days it seems like a well structured place to have decen...

Submitting IG books?

I know the team is busy these days, but I was wondering, who do we send texts to be turned into IG books now? Last time I did it it was still Artos dealing with this kind of stuff. I have something like ten or so "song" lyrics written down for my traveling bard Belchior, most of them based on Arelit...
