The issue is not with the lens, it's with server portalling. You can encounter that issue even when you're going through a transition to another server. Sometimes it says portalling failed, and sometimes it just does nothing at all, although these occurrences have been far less common since a few up...

It's a general AB/dmg boost, which applies to all attack rolls while active, but you have to focus on a melee weapon to take CoT levels, so it's cumbersome on a ranged build.

Yes. If you use your Writ item, and select a particular job, you'll have the option to abandon it. It still counts toward your maximum jobs per day, but you free up the slot and can get more jobs tomorrow.

Yes. Writs will always give both types of XP. Adventure mode only applies to XP from kills.

Open your Steam Library.
Right-Click on Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition and select Properties.
Go to the Betas tab.
In the dropdown menu, select "oldstable".

It should download the changes and roll back your install in just a few seconds.
