I played Arelith for near a decade, but never have I been so crestfallen with the direction Arelith has been taking this year, there has been too many double standards from design view points and administration.
Whatever I'm leaving behind, isn't the Arelith I used to play.
Good bye, it was fun.

One is a fundamental representation of Necromancy.
The other is less than a statstick, it's a statslot.
yeah no wonder

Their critical range is smaller but their multiplier is 3x, which evens it out in terms of critical damage.

More Assassin Locations/Handlers
The only two ways (that I know of) you can get an assassin hit on someone are in the Underdark or another plane. Add more accessible NPCs in the module for people to place hits (not necessarily pay them out), like a non-hostile gang in a warehouse in lower Cordor, maybe in "new Guldorand" or Crow's ...

Re: Alignment settings and Balance,
IDK, I've played numerous evil surface characters, and rarely ever had issues. The key is to not be obnoxious, provoke others, or shout to the heavens that you praise Graz'zt and sacrifice babies. I know a lot of evil or at least evil leaning characters about that aren't man hunted. Granted, tag sys...

Most of these issues would vanish if we moved away from this "tag" philosophy.

Re: Imagine we had less Portals?
I for example don't consider a filtering/balance team that doesnt do actaul work and, or provide solid alternatives to move forward to be a practical burden upon the developers. im going to nitpick on this point because it addresses me (and others), and clarify that many of us did actual work, rang...

Remove Redundant Portals
This isn't a suggestion about removing portals to make people travel more or whatever, this is just to remove portals that are too close to one another and just end up clogging the portal list. List of portals too close to each other below: Burrowhome: Arelith Forest (Shallow Wood) Southern Entrance...

Re: Belated Update thoughts: an essay
People that don't PvP and/or are not mechanically savvy are not nearly as affected by those who PvP and/or are mechanically aware at first glance . This change affects both, in that the latter group people have quit Arelith or are moving to what's the next new things, and in many occasions they will...

Re: Belated Update thoughts: an essay
The fact that it's already in shops and the screenshot guy is giving some away and srill jas lots suggests non pure hoarding. Will they be balanced, that's another discussion lol But everyone who finds them wont hoard them because not everyone wants to or even gets to regular pvp. The more its hoar...

Breach effects only remove specific buffs. High CL Disjunction will roll vs ALL spells you have active. There's a gigantic difference between the two.

all of these changes make me sad
i dont know how anyone can defend them when all they accomplish is widen the gap between classes and benefit OOC driven hamstering of OP loot gear. i honestly miss the days i looked forward to updates.

Re: New Item Concerns!
There's many people who played this game for years and years, including PvP servers. Nobody is re-inventing the wheel with the new item drops, it doesn't take "experimentation" to know what will happen with them. People are not speaking out of their asses when they say this isn't good, and why.

Re: To the Big Update
There's a lot of disagreements from me regarding this update.
But something I've been enjoying a lot is weapon groups, dual wielding different weapons is aesthetic, and makes loot weapons a lot more valuable and fun on the road to higher level items.

Full kudos to the Blackguard Lukas...he didn't try to hide his association...but I had to ASSUME he was an EVIL Blackguard...rather than "sense" the corruption of his black heart. how terrible it must have been to roleplay investigating or deducing someone over clicking a button I've learned my les...

Re: Secondary Skills (Open Development Idea)
Any new non combat feat or skill should work separatedly from combat skills or feats. A parallel progression and you can't put "social" skills into combat or vice versa, or use your "social" bonus feat to get a combat feat.

I trust that they will be only giving them out rarely if ever and only for outstanding RP. So, special cookies handed through subjective methods to a select few? I don't think I even need to say how unnecessarily damaging to the health of the server it might be, in general. By this philosophy, we c...

The thing is, dms have given busted crap. Ranging from 5 dr armors, overpowered books, and free xp. Some of those "rewards" were not malicious in nature but happened because the dms could not grasp the consequences. Arelith dms have a long history of mechanical unawaraness, and theres been a fair fe...

A change that punishes casual players and rewar...
