Re: Cloud hosting costs - update

Macs can still get malware in the form of browser extensions and such. At least, that's how it commonly happens.

Re: What's it worth?

I think a lot of you missed this: I really want to steer away from mechanical things, and also I already do a lot of things to incorporate characters into the history of Arelith via statues and NPCs and the like, and I'm not sure how I feel that dollars can trump RP. I also am not comfy with "Add ne...

Re: What's it worth?

If this is going to be a monthly thing, it'd be neat to have a progress bar on the site measuring how close we are to the goal amount each month (like Reddit's Gold program, which has done pretty well for them).

Re: What's it worth?

imo - keep individual rewards to flashy forum stuff. I'd prefer "group" rewards that resulted in cool stuff for everyone. This is worth brainstorming. You could have benchmarks ($250, $500, etc) with different additions to the server based on each reward. $X.00 gets a new playable race, while $Y.00...

Re: What's it worth?

I will gladly donate building/scripting skills to folks who donate, if it's appropriate.

Also, is it still possible to make monthly donations to server costs?

Re: Packer Meltdown

I'm so disappointed in the playoffs this year. It's taken the wind out of my sails for the Superbowl. I hate both teams, I wish both could lose.

On the other hand, my Buckeyes won the NCAA championship, so I still get to bask in that glow for a while.

Re: Short guide about the previous RP to the PvP?

K, this is getting silly. - It's not against the rules to bash a corpse. We have it available as an option for a reason. If it upsets you, you're taking the game too seriously. This debate has come up for as long as I've been on the server; whether you like it or not, bashing isn't going anywhere, s...

Re: DM Etiquette (A Short Guide on Pinging DMs)

I don't think so, although hostile may not be a sufficient word to encompass the expectation. As far as I've seen, the RP before PvP needs to lead up to and support the hostile action. It can't just be, "Hello, how are you, today?" *Hellball, Greater Ruin, IGMS* This is correct. Be reasonable and y...

Re: Portal lenses used to escape roleplay

I appreciate the frustration, but the forums aren't the place for venting. If it makes you this upset, you should take a break, or roll a new character. If you have a legitimate gripe, please take it to DMs privately and we can handle the issue on a case-by-case basis. This sort of vague complaining...

Re: For DM's -Someone is killing People with traps in Cordor

Also, for future reference, posting "there's a griefer in Cordor and we can't find DMs" isn't really a good idea. It just tells the griefer that what he's doing is working. Please keep this stuff to PMs.

...obviously, multi-spawning resources is a bug that shouldn't exist, and not a feature. The purpose of this thread is to identify that bug and alert the devs that it should be fixed.

My fear about stuff like this is that it just inches us closer to real world political implications. The idea that everyone has a fair say is just going to reinforce the kind of equal-rights democracy mentality that everyone complains about.

One would think that on a roleplay server that stresses both fairness and interaction, our position would be obvious.

Short answer: don't be that guy.

My input is that when this stuff starts giving the devs a headache, you're probably going to see artifacts go away.

Please play nice and avoid being cheeseballs, or your shiny toys will be taken away from you.
