Re: About Loremasters

My Druid/LM combo didn't even make the list! Granted, my combination of classes makes me arguably much worse in PvE/PvP than a Rogue or Fighter dip or even pure-Druid would. I adore the flavour and RP of a Loremaster, especially given I lean into scholar RP. Of course there are those who use L...

Re: Why elections need a run up period

It wouldn't surprise me if someone intentionally took timezones into consideration to ensure a win, to be honest. I've haven't heard of it happening, but that doesn't mean it never happens. I think a run-up period of campaigning is a good idea, all in all. Gives everyone a shot, plus keeps those vot...

Re: Mechanics, FOIG, and Lanterns

While scenario 2 is the obvious problem so is scenario 1. Scenario X: If Evil Exile Evan is sneaking into Cordor in his plans to spread mayhem and disaster. He puts on his disguise using his skills 70 Bluff, slaps on some magic as well (serene visage). Now it should be assumed that Evan is not stup...

Re: Mechanics, FOIG, and Lanterns

As someone who also ran hood checks and played a settlement guard, I think I have pretty decent examples of RPing against hoods and disguises as compared to 'gaming the mechanics'. Scenerio 1: Someone is stopped, asked to remove their hood. They are disguised but I don't know the original person or ...

Re: If you could play ANY sort of DRAGON or DRAGON-LIKE Player Character...

I'd make a character that is meant to be funny, to be honest. A halfling copper dragonborn or half dragon bard that speaks in riddles or saunters through the streets strumming a lute and singing silly songs. Copper dragons are funny creatures, they're probably my favourite dragon for personality alo...

Love me some Whale!
Avalon is one of my favourite DMs, I enjoy his plots and the occasional silliness he puts into them. He's also extremely helpful and easy to approach to ask questions or get something minor going ICly!

Re: Mechanics, FOIG, and Lanterns

A big problem I see sometimes is with the bug reporting side. I know a few UD players were testing rituals, which were intended to be heavily FOIG. Which, sure, fine. (That there's just a bunch of rituals suddenly that lots of PCs know exactly how to perform, what material components, compatible la...

Re: Mechanics, FOIG, and Lanterns

Boons aside, as I love all the suggestions above and wanna see 'em.

Still would REALLY love the Lanterns having their bonuses listed on the Wiki given those are much harder to mechanically figure out.
Or the Lantern Guy in Shadow Cordor giving hints. That'd be cool, too!

Re: Mechanics, FOIG, and Lanterns

To make things even more confusing for those who didn't know, the Maurs boon requires you speak Jotun at a specific spot in the dungeon. And the best part? There's nothing that indicates this. There is no examinable object at the spot, there is no ingame journal or description to read, no writ that...

Re: Mechanics, FOIG, and Lanterns

All of the this. What the heck is a boon?! I didn't even know about such a thing. I want to know what all the lanterns do without having to somehow test them each to even be able to tell, which is likely impossible to do without any information to go off of. I'm not even sure what the Angler Lantern...

Banshee!!
Just a vengeful spirit who's out to make someone suffer like she did.
Dirge Singer/Bard, obviously.

Alternatively, Mohrg Necromancy Wizard. They're so gross. I love them.

As someone who deals with a slight version of colour blindness, I agree.

I personally picked, '5) Property is an absolute premium. I'd never settle with a storage room, I always want nice, big homes in nice places! I prioritize it over storage, even!' Though I do wanna expand on the why! It's not so much that I want a BIG home, I am perfectly happy with a smaller or medi...

Empty Scrolls for Recipes

Description: While attempting to make a 'Paper Cabinet' fixture, the recipe calls for 10 Blank Scrolls. I went to the Amnian Embassy Merchant in Cordor, and purchased what I thought to be blank scrolls. However, they were named 'Empty Scrolls' instead. I figured this wouldn't matter given it is func...

Re: Quarter timers

Yeah, quarter hogging does happen. This is gonna happen whether the timer is one week or two, there's not much way around it when you're a player. Considering those who do so are doing it for months, I'd take a guess that those who log in only once every TWO weeks are actually gonna be easier to mon...

When you steal, you don't know what you're going to get. You suspect that most of the time, you'll get a bit of gold. But you can also be surprised. I play one of the people that run that place, but I'm going to OOCly ignore that. I will say that I sincerely hope you understand and follow the rules...

Re: Suggestion on the item "Blade Orb"

I have about 50 Blade Orbs on my current character. In the past, I've kept upwards of 100 on previous characters. I've never, not once, had one go off in over three years of playing. They are EXTREMELY rare to actually catch a pickpocket, I've heard of it happening a mere handful of times. I'd perso...

Re: Memorials, those who came before us!

Agreed! I love seeing stuff like this. Headstones, forgotten shrines, old paintings, and lately I've come across books while re-organizing a library that were dated as far back as '33 AR'. My character even made a comment of 'I wasn't even ALIVE yet.' It's so cool to see stuff like that! It makes me...

Re: Stormy Days In Cordor

It's a meme how much it rains/thunderstorms in Cordor at this point. It makes sense given it's quite literally on the coast- but so is Guldorand. Less rain in general would make me happy... poor Farmland fixtures have taken a beating lately. OR umbrellas. I'll take the rain if we get umbrellas.

4) Correct, there is no flight animations. We can work on a winged creature short flight script and ability if we wanted to. We also have an animation but it has to look right and feel right. Other winged creatures don’t fly, so you’ll get used to it. That'd be so cool for fey/gloamings/RDD/fey'ri!...

Re: Roleplay on stealing / theft / pickpockets

I personally hate the pickpocket mechanics for the 'RP' it 9 times outta 10 does NOT generate. Scenerio 1) Pickpocket gets caught in an attempt. Immediately runs away, doesn't RP at all. Scenerio 2) Pickpocket gets caught in an attempt. Claims they didn't steal, usually gets bonked. Scenerio 3) Pick...

Well as far as shops that 'don't seem to move things', some shops are restocked almost constantly so you wouldn't really see what all they sell when they dedicate time to the same wares! (Think wands, potions, scrolls, stuff you can remake on the fly) When it comes to people treating shops as glorif...
