Re: Thread of Disappearance

I'm done. I'd say it's been a pleasure but that wouldn't really be true. This place is not for me, and seemingly not really for anyone intending to speak their mind unless they have a number of years of seniority. If anybody was interested in getting to know any of my characters sorry that's not goi...

Re: Water/food system

It could probably use some tweaking, I feel like food and water items provide too much satiation per item. Maybe 10% instead of 25% I don't think I've ever actually had to BUY any of these items, I find more than enough to see me through Good god no, I don't want to stand in place for a literal RL ...

Re: Truth about high RPR! (from a single perspective)

The idea of a system to reward good RP isn't as such a bad idea. Of course if I'm still RPR 10 in a couple of months I'm probably leaving for some server where I'm not mechanically labelled an unworthy pleb by virtue of not being lucky enough to get senpais attention. Maybe I'm the only one who feel...

Re: Truth about high RPR! (from a single perspective)

It's lovely that everyone seems to be assuming that people who feel like they should get an RPR increase already have RPR 20 😅 Getting 20 RPR only takes one DM or even one 40rpr player watching someone plays one time. If the player doesnt have 20 rpr by the time they're playing on this server sever...

Re: The "Personal Story"

I'm pretty sure a great portion of the playerbase does want more than just faction warfare and grinding. Probably. I do run into people who RP although it seems mostly as preludes to going to farm XP/materials/gold/writs. I've noticed that with those of my characters that have actually gotten invol...

Re: The "Personal Story"

To be honest at this point, for Arelith, I just go with a couple of mental notes. Not going to bother monologuing about my dramatic backstory when everyone just wants to get to grinding or faction warfare anyway 😅

Re: Look on polymorph

I could totally see a barbarian totem shifter path being cool, if you balance it correctly. And while I would love more melee power on my totem druid it probably doesn't need it :D

Interesting. That would mean Kirito either botched something in the code or straight up lied to us when he told us this nugget:
You want to ride perfectly on any horse, in and out of combat? it's 33 ranks.
Let's assume human error rather than malicious intent, shall we?

Re: How would you make the sorcerer class more playable?

I do love the idea of adding bloodline feats to the sorcerer. Doing that you could also limit RDDA to the Draconic bloodline, and maybe make some sort of synergy effect for Fiend-blood sorcerers going Blackguard

Piety gains wildly unbalanced?

So, I've been playing a number of different classes and it seems to be the piety gains are wildly imbalanced. As in I spent more piety (75%) on my Silvanus druid yesterday than I've earned on my Laduguer Wizard/PM in all of his 9 levels (30%). Does this need tweaking? Seems like war or nature deitie...

Re: Rogue familiars

Yeah, exactly. There's a reason it's so popular, and I think that's because it's so useful that it makes all of the other options look useless. It also decreases the value of other PCs with open lock/disable trap as one of their primary functions in group play is replaced by someone else's summon. ...

The locks aren't the issue, the traps are.

Well that would be "easily" fixed by not having them smashable :)

Re: The "Personal Story"

I completely understand not wanting to impose on somebody's background story but I do also feel it's a bit of a shame that there's not much of a chance for some dynamic, un-requested RP as a DM decides to pick up on a plot hook

Re: The "Personal Story"

A dependable way of getting a DM involved is by involving a lot of players in roleplay. DMs are inspired to run quests on what they find interesting, and have no responsibility to run your plot. If you inspire them with your roleplay, you'll probably wander into a DM plot one of these days. I didn'...

Re: The "Personal Story"

Yeah I don't really get that approach you describe Ork. I know we're not playing your standard roleplaying game here but it seems a bit strange that the only way to get the DM involved with your story/character is by ordering an event. How are DMs supposed to know which stories they can/want to get ...

Although I have yet to find any sort of system for providing DMs with said background story, are you just mean to send it to the Active DMs channel and hope someone decides to pick up on it? Re: Rogue familiars

There already isn't much of a point to most familiars, as the pixie is objectively better than the others. Definitely my impression as well, I think it's the only familiar I have ever actually seen anybody else have, it's likely simply too useful. And sure you -can- RP it as evil/enslaved/enchanted...
