Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
Astray you need to make a separate thread. What you are discussing isn't the topic. What I was discussing before isn't actually even the topic. Though my guess is that the potential thread in question would be locked. Because it's one made out of anger and frustration, not inquiry or discussion. Th...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
I'm honestly not sure what you're arguing for, that your "team good" should be able to eradicate all traces of "team evil" in retaliation for one of the surface cities losing the elections to an evil aligned party? Are you advocating that the only consequence of meaning is to go eye for an eye, set...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
Wharftown was evil right? And thats a ruin now. Nope. It was just taken over by Banites and other neer-do-wells constantly, inevitably went to war with Cordor every time and was just generally treated like a far greater threat than it should have been. It become a yearly cycle for a batch of player...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
It's almost like Andunor is the only settlement that underdarkers and monster races can be in and therefore literally can't become a bastion of goodness or something  This is the double standard I'm talking about. Some evil character takes over a surface settlement by rigging elections, d...

Re: Suggestion: Outcast - Make it Mandatory for Outcasts to write why they are an Outcast in discription
The whole reason the Outcast tag was added in the first place, is because every UDer was rolling a human and then casually strolling around on the surface pretending to be a good boi. The onus should be on Outcast players to portray themselves as Outcasts imo. If your character calls out someone for...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
Which settlement? The one that is currently a ghost town because its past two leaders decided to act like fascists and kill everyone that disagrees with them. If I give details I will just be subjected to more cyber bullying and probably get a talking to from the DM's. Evil characters that "create ...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
It's getting tiresome that we have to shield evil characters from consequences just to have some "conflict", because everybody who lacks a moral compass apparently also lacks foresight as well. It's getting tiresome that we have to shield evil characters from consequences just to have some "conflic...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
Evil could use a spot on the Surface. Why not let Brog be the nexus for evil chars? Or Bendir? Or Guldorand? Why not open up and use what we have, instead of making new places and trying to shoehorn the RP into them? This was done before with another settlement. All the players invested in that set...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
I think even if a drow only city and a duergar port was added that Anundor would still have enough players to keep it interesting. Aside from drow and duergar they also have tons of humans, goblins, ogres, kobolds, gnolls, as well as slaves. And the hub would still be the hub. It would just be a few...

Re: The Radiant Heart Badges are a Crux for RP
So might makes right then? Personaly i think a frail elderly man that is wise beyond his years would make for a fantastic leader of a town. Might makes right applies to nearly everything else. If you're sailing the seas and run into pirates, or if you're pirates boarding someone else, might makes r...

Re: The Radiant Heart Badges are a Crux for RP
Sometimes it's more fun to concede, and go along with what somebody else wants to do. And sometimes it is not. I am a strong supporter of opening up assassination to everyone. Right now there are more pale masters and red dragon disciples than assassins in a world where settlement leaders regularly...

Re: The Radiant Heart Badges are a Crux for RP
Yeah I think if the Radiant Heart had a lot of the same mechanics as settlements then a lot of the problems would be resolved naturally. They should at least have the option of banishing active supporters of necromancy from their ranks. There should also be some sort of leader or system of hierarchy...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
I have to really agree with Durvayas that there could be a couple more evil settlements. Then players from "team evil" might not feel the need to constantly infiltrate surface settlements in attempts to make them "turn evil." I'm all for adding a pure drow and a duergar settlement.

Re: The Radiant Heart Badges are a Crux for RP
Basically, bad PR is the death of a faction. Bad PR is often the result of bad RP. I hate to sit here and tell anyone their RP is bad. But if you're a former team evil player and you join a good faction/settlement with a LG alt and proceed to do objectively evil things I think the DM's should proba...

Re: The Radiant Heart Badges are a Crux for RP
Chiming in as someone playing a "Paladin" I will never join the RH because all I've heard IC is that they are a bunch of necromancy lovers. Obviously not every RH Paladin is affiliated with necromancers but some have been and it has stained the reputation like Mr Rieper said. There are a couple of r...

Re: Arelith’s (surface) is once again too safe and too divided
There is plenty of conflict and PVP already, you're just not seeing it. Want PVP? Rent a ship and sail the seas. Lots of great pirate players will give it to you. Want conflict? Lots of great Banite players will give it to you. Want evil? Go hang out in the UD, lots of great players there will give ...

Re: Player Review on: Arelith
But be aware that if you're on one team and you keep passing the ball to the other team you're supposed to be playing against, your team has every right to be miffed at you. If you say "Screw you I don't care about winning." don't be surprised when they kick you off the team. You might just be play...

Re: Player Review on: Arelith
People really want to keep a status quo in a game that revolves better around drama and conflict. And that status quo is often kept up with an IC superiority complex that bleeds so OOC that it just makes me sick to observe. What's worse, while a little more uncommon now because I suspect some DMs g...

this is really just blaming the victim. be critical of how the problem players act. you can have fun on a character that is otherwise the subject of a lot of drama. i have fun on rick, but that doesn't mean people being REALLY STUPID doesn't put a damper on things. I have been very critical of prob...

Re: Player Review on: Arelith
Lady Astray, what I think people are arguing is that just because you share an alignment axis, or both alignment axis does not mean you are on the same team, at all. Two Paladins might not go eye to eye, they might even have poor opinions on each others methods and work. That aside you may have som...

Re: Player Review on: Arelith
No one should be subject to ooc drama over IC actions, so long as they not break the rules. Implying someone should have to make a new pc if they want to avoid ooc drama over how their PC acts IG is an utterly disgusting thing to say. I agree no one should be subject to OOC drama. But it does happe...

Re: Player Review on: Arelith
There are alignments in the Forgotten Realms setting, with categorically good and evil acts or deeds. Animating the dead or summoning demons is never gonna earn you good boy points and head pats on the surface. There might be some room for moral relativism, but things in FR tend to be pretty black a...
