Re: RP Policy: Quoting real-world works in-character?

Excuse me? I worded it careful to express that I did not know them or accuse of anything. I refuse to have a guilt trip laid on me because someone took offense at a very reasonable discussion. I'm not guilt tripping you at all. This happened well before your post. Not all the discussion has been as...

Re: RP Policy: Quoting real-world works in-character?

Nobody’s saying you can’t bring outside text to a language lesson or other performance. They’re just saying what +they+ would like to see. It’s not for anyone but DMs to say you can’t quote Ed Sheeran lyrics if you really want to. I’d rather see original text or someone research interesting and mor...

Re: RP Policy: Quoting real-world works in-character?

Even in the real world musicians do covers all the time. As a well known bard in Arelith (we do weekly concerts at the Fool's Clover under the Nomad) I sing famous songs from the Forgotten Realms, because why wouldn't those songs have travelled from bard to bard to bard? I will also sing songs like ...

Problem with Shadow Door

The location of the door is FIOG I believe so I will leave it at that, but I cannot get through a certain shadow door. I keep getting the error "Destination not set up". I saw there was an announcement about one of the shadow doors being fixed in late January. Hopefully this is a similar simple fix....

Event - Normal Award

Do we need to use the Normal Award during this event? Will it go away if we don't make a character today using the award?

Re: The Magpie Theatre

Hello! First of all, I'd like to say that Guldorand looks awesome and I am really excited for the Magpie Theatre -- it looks great and reminds me a lot of the Globe in its design. I know that I'll probably be doing a lot with the place on a future character. However, I would like for there to be a ...

Never seen this happen before

Right now in game it is Month 1, Day 8. It's also month 1, day 8 in the real world! Just never seen the dates actually line up like that.

Re: Life is a victory march; the gone priest

I met Vance once as a villain, and many more times after his reformation. In every encounter he was polite, genteel, and welcoming, even that one time as a villain. Kudos to you for making one of the most memorable characters on the server!

Re: More game devs?

I'm a 3D artist/illustrator who has worked in the games industry, but is currently making games and apps for a contracting company that mostly makes such things for government clients. I do have credits on several Wii and PSP games, as well as a PC title. I have an art thread in the forum, if you'd ...

Re: Do you have a Long Running character? If so Why?

I do, Elliara Wintercat, the half-elven bard. Partly it's just because I like the immersion of playing a character day in and day out over a long haul, similar to a real DnD campaign. But also I just wanted to see her through from 1-30 level and I am a VERY slow leveler, I didn't make her a very pow...

I hope you'll keep posting art! I never knew any of your characters I do not think, being mostly a surface-dwelling slob. But I did love following your misadventures in comic form!

I've literally been searching for music like this for ages, and now suddenly it's exploded all over YouTube! I wonder if all the bad stuff thats happened in 2020 was the price for this musical trend.

Re: Rest Mechanics

Rest ticking down while sitting is a [BAD] thing and I mostly play [CASTERS].

I think it would be better to have some control over whether your rest ticks down or not, rather than just have it so it always ticks down. If you want it to tick down, then stand up.

A few small bugs in Whidershin Village/Mayfields

Masaaki the paper maker says "I've got some paper her if you need some." instead of "I've got some paper here if you need some." Also that phrasing seems to indicate that he sells sheets of paper for writing notes, but he instead sell a copy of the Cordor Press. EDIT: I figured out what was wrong wi...

Re: Loremaster Feedback Megathread

That does have the side-effect of making it that if you grab Loremaster pre-20 these secrets are pretty much non-functional until you hit epic levels, which is kind of awkward in its own way. I think in terms of long-term balance it makes perfect sense, but in terms of taking Loremaster from 10 to ...
