Re: Scry: Suggestions?

ESF Divination is already much less useful than most other spell foci simply because its application is almost purely for roleplay. There are very few spells with DCs that use Divination, so you're sacrificing a lot of mechanical power to take it, especially if you're a sorcerer. Actually, I'm not ...

Re: Character Description

I like to put in as much sensory information as makes sense. Sight: Many of the things mentioned above. Height, build, clothing styles, how they move, facial features, distinguishing marks or possessions, apparent age Sound: Its nice to know whether someone is speaking in a low rumbling basso or a l...

Re: Feylocks

Not sure how that would work, since CS doesn't have its own uses per day, but rather draws from uses of bard song. Would be pretty darned neat if it could be managed though.

Re: How does one get to be a bartender?

Basically just be behind the bar at a place that has the system (Nomad, Social Club, Burrowhome bar, others?). Right now the tags don't show for the same reason disguise doesn't work. Generally, you just have to figure out who owns the place and apply IC.

Re: Kudos from an Infernalist

I've been meaning to reply to this one for a while... Malveaux/Harrow/Moira/Sabine is probably my absolute favorite Arelith character. I've interacted with her on a number of characters over the years (three of them even made the list!), and I am always in awe of this player's abilities. It's hard t...

Re: Enhanced Edition: The Bad

Yeah... my loadscreen times went to absolute crap since the last patch. Before I only had minor issues in places like Cordor and Burrowhome, a little bit with the Tower lobby. Now the super slow, occasionally crashy loadtimes happen randomly no matter where I am about 1 in 4 transitions. Its getting...

Meh... it makes a sort of misty effect, very easy to see through and not particularly good for the dramatic 'SMOKEBOMB!!!' escape.

Re: How would you play an atheist character?

I played a fairly well known character a couple years back who was 'faithless'. It was a fun but difficult concept; my character essentially refused to worship any of the gods, and was willing to go to the wall, out of pure spite. He'd seen a great many terrible things done in the name of the gods, ...

"This repair kit is utterly broken..."

What's the deal with this? I've bought three sets of 5 kits now from three different shops, and all of them have been broken. I'm getting sick of wasting gold on things that go straight to the trash. Are these just old kits that people are still selling to be jerks? If so... shouldn't they be remove...

Quarterstaff Monk Question

It was my understanding that something was broken regarding how the quarterstaff works for a monk since EE. Anyone know if this is true/ still true? I.E. does it currently still work with both weapon finesse and Monk unarmed attack progression?

Re: Werewolf

If slippery mind works, it would pretty much reduce the chance of losing control from 5% to 2.5%... which means it's still going to happen fairly frequently, because the dice hate you. But if you're doing SD, your shadow can probably tank your attacks quite well. Slippery mind/mind blank/clarity wo...

Pirate Cove Bugs

Upon entering the pirate cove area, specifically the west side, my companion and I found no spawns anywhere within the majority of the dungeon, including the area with all the chests. We then made our way to the entrance to the other beach and were instantly mobbed by what seemed like a dozen or so ...

Re: Spellswords (Again and again)

I just gave this thread a read, and while I do think the changes seem warranted, the tone of some of the responses was a little hard to read, and smacked of a 'you don't play like I do so you don't get an opinion' mentality. I think we can probably debate the points of an update without trying to bu...

Re: Feylock RP

Adding to what was said above, another great resource for inspiration is Susanna Clarke's 'Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell'. Not only is it a great read, but it also has a really cool take on the fey. The Gentleman with the Thistledown Hair just begs to be repurposed as a warlock patron.

How does forcing doors work?

Does anyone know how this system works? The wiki says it uses only the STR stat against the lock strength. Does this mean that a 38-ish lock strength makes a door impossible to force?

The main use is its ability to destroy objects, so long as they aren't plot tagged. Makes fighting certain lich bosses much, much easier, I'd imagine.

ESF Trans Portal - No Destinations

I used the -teleport create command in the spires earlier tonight for the first time. It made the portal as expected, but when I and the person I was with clicked on it, 'Done' was the only option, despite my (and presumably his) having dozens of portal locations on the surface. Not sure if it was d...

Doesn't this also greatly change PvE balance as well though? Suddenly every caster in a high level zone just got way more difficult for non pure class casters.

Re: How much Ride needed for using Horses

The Devs are obviously entitled to obfuscate the ride mechanics if they feel it's best for the server, but I am also very unlikely to ever test the system as it stands without more information, particularly when playing a character with only cross class access. It's simply too much investment for wh...

Re: Could we get some insight into the dispel change?

I'm somewhat confused by the expressed reasoning. Shouldn't dispel mechanics be more attractive by definition to abjurors? Much as evocation spells are less attractive to my wizard without evocation feats? By that logic, all spells should have their DC raised by two, and all spell focus feats rework...
