Re: Thread of Disappearance

Some folks have probably already noticed. Damon has been absent for some time now as I have returned to work, sometimes 12 hours a day and seven days a week.

Hopefully after the high season I can get back to playing one of my Tieflings (Damon or Kenneth).

Re: Arelith: Enhanced Edition & You - FAQ

I'm not tech savvy so pardon me if this seems a stupid question. When downloading the new EE, does it overwrite/ use the NwN game i currently have or will I have two of the same game? Will voicesets be on the new EE or will I lose that? Am I to understand that the EE will ask if I have a CD key from...

Re: How important is improved KD?

I was considering the importance of IKD for a bard/blackguard/fighter build of mine, trying to determine if Epic Weapon Specialization is worth taking over IKD. Yes. Epic Weapon Specialisation is a feat you absolutely should take as a melee character. Do not drop that for IKD. If you already do 30+...

Re: Comparing summons... do my s...?

The logs on that screenshot still suggest that the bear may not have been focused at you when your attack struck.
You (sneak)attacked the bear, the bear attacked you, the elemental attacked the bear twice and you (sneak)attacked the bear.

Are there any horses that don't throw thier riders?

As title.

I've ridden a horse once in my life. It never tried to throw me off.

Minimum investment to ride a horse is 6. It'd be nice if I can jump on a well-broken horse for a swift mode of travel from point A to point B.

Maybe make it throw people and bolt if they take x damage.

Re: Did the alternate familiars go away?

Why not make a -stream option for familiars? One or two reskins per familiar type to keep it similar (because if you have a pixie why stream a lock-picking eyeball?), Maybe a dialog after level up that offers a reskin based on the selection and you're stuck with that skin until next level?

+2 Heal rings/necklaces/belts/otherstuff spawns regularly all over the server, and shows up in player shops, just collect those with the enchants you want, take it to an enchanter to make it better, rinse & repeat until you have your favourite equipment. I don't think I have ever actively sought he...

Re: Dragon Shaper Nerf Discussion

I watched a Bear Totem Druid wreck high level content without ever once using dragonshape. And no monk levels. Honestly the only thing I've ever seen DS used for consistently is for tanking Abazuur and wrecking Baator areas when they were still a constant spawn playground for high level grinding. An...

Re: Suggestion Discussion - Craftable Coinage

I could actually see something like this raising other costs for crafted items, placing them out of reach for PCs that don't have the required skill to make coins. I like the scrapper idea posted earlier. It gives those without coin-making skills a way to keep up with those with the skill. It would ...

Re: paladins and pre-epic feats

Paladins are generally built with a singular thought in mind: Smite! All their feats go to this goal save one: Divine Shield. Strength based? Smite! Charisma based? Smite harder! Their lack of feats only allows one stand-out direction, its why you never see a paladin dropping into improved expertize...

Re: Why such an aversion to running in dungeons?

Running through a dungeon, for me, depends on time I have to play and what I'm looking for at that moment. Sometimes I just want to grind some xp and running is just fine. Don't expect RP during that, though. I also play sneaks a lot. And running does away with any perception of stealth. Don't expec...

Re: Problems with adventuring

What if artefacts spawned once per character per reset? Rogue opens the chest, finds something, the WM opens behind him, finds something, so on. Chest no longer spawns something for those characters that have gained something until the next reset but remains useful for the next group. Keep it random...

No. Kill the Eilistraeens first because they are likely lying, Lothite scum. Or harbor them.

Re: Problems with adventuring

I generally don't bother looking for artefacts. Usually the artefact found sucks, or you end up squabbling over who needs it more. I've never seen one (on my own adventures) that seemed useful. Loot chests are an interesting bit. Seems like most are geared toward the level of the area with a random ...

The only anti-hero vampire I'd accept is Cain. Evil to the core, laughs out loud at the misery and death of others and flat-out murders anyone that gets in his way.

Why have all these big changes now if they're going to be changed, possibly in a drastic manner, soon? Re: Horses

Personally I'd prefer horse riders to gain bonuses that make sense rather than huge AB/AC gains. Mounted archery bonus remains. A small spot bonus (sitting higher for a wider field of vision). A listen debuff (you're sitting on a snorting, clomping, farting animal, how can you hear a sneak?). Warhor...

Re: Dispeller vs. Smiter

Smitadin has killer damage against non-evil via Divine Might. AB is only slightly worse than a STR pally. And saves are hugely better.
And don't forget Divine Wrath, because no Smitadin is getting Great Smiting IX without Champion of Torm levels.

Re: Enchantment basin's listed success chance reflects foci?

I can't comment on item cost, but the fur cloak and the royal out fit are reasonably easy to get components for and craft. I'd make a bunch and burn that 5% as xp and gp allows.

Re: Old Udos Droxun

My UD play is pretty much limited to Andunor times. Until then I played only surface characters. Back then only a few of the drow I encountered seemed to be in it for the RP and specifically conflict RP. The vast majority that came up to the surface always seemed to drop a one-liner and attack. I'm ...

Re: Dwarven Defender Megatopic!

I think DDs are mostly fine the way they are now. Critical immunity while only in stance would be about the only addition I'd like to see them with. They can already mitigate far more damage than a barbarian, they synergize well with WM (if one gives up the rogue dip or starts as rogue), And their A...

Re: Lore and heal ranks

I never invest in lore directly unless I have a few points I have no plan for. A pair of rings gets most things identified and a lore potion, if you are fast, can ID six items a pop (and these are cheap to acquire).
