Re: Huron's Kudos

Huron was the vessel for a lot of incredibly memorable moments while playing Myla. Sorry for her appearances being so sporadic, but know that Huron was always a bright light to gravitate towards whenever I did log in!

Great character. Enjoy what comes next!

Feat Suggestion: Monkey Grip

I have no idea how viable this would be or what effect it would have on balance, but I've always loved the ridiculousness of the Monkey Grip feat from v3.5 and beyond. My suggestion is to add Monkey Grip as a feat, under the following parameters: Prerequisites: Strength 20+ -Allows the user the wiel...

Restoration Update Bug

Description of Bug Experienced: A recent update came out, detailing that the spell Restoration could be used on a player with less than 0.00% rest/water/food, and it would bring said meter up to 0.00%. My character, a level 17 healer cleric, recently attempted casting Restoration on another player ...

Re: Thank You DM SOLLERS

My interactions with DM Sollers were admittedly few and far between, but they were some of the most impactful, fun, and thoughtfully constructed events I've had the pleasure of experiencing, and I think the fact they left such an impression on me even with so little exposure speaks volumes. Yours wi...

Re: There is no reason to play evil on surface anymore

I have to agree with budii and Basementfellow here. As a sort of tie in with the thread I recently made about the constant need to "win" at a persistent story, this is the most prevalent when dealing with "goodly" characters. It's difficult for evil to find a foothold, and not only because of the fa...

How to "Win" a Neverending Game

Hi Arelith. I've noticed a trend, lately, that I wanted to gather some outside opinions on. Arelith has the largest playerbase of any Neverwinter Nights server I've ever seen, and that's incredible! I recall when the servers had a maximum of twenty to thirty people on it, even during peak hours; som...

Re: Paladins and Alignment

By far the most common problem of Arelith's paladins is not "doing evil things" it's not doing good things (which can be pretty similar). I've never seen a Paladin jump over the edge with torture, but I see paladins every day arguing the ethics and morality of killing warlocks, pale masters and ani...

-twohand Command on Spears

This was suggested once before, from my preliminary searching, so I'll change up the request a bit. My understanding is that bastard swords are currently the only weapons to benefit from the -twohand command because, aside from just making sense for a weapon considered to be a hand-and-a-half sword,...

A little late but thought I'd say that little scuffle in the Nomad yesterday was greatly entertaining, thank you to all involved.

Re: Why are we not allowed to talk about the server on the forums?

We are of course entitled to our opinion, but at the end of the day the shape of the server falls down to however the devs want it. This sort of thing is just fine in a smaller setting, like tabletop or a server capping at thirty or so people, and perhaps worked at one point - but Arelith is growin...

Re: Why are we not allowed to talk about the server on the forums?

I, for one, would love to see a dedicated place to talk about server-wide issues pertaining to players. I know the DM teams would like us to individually report each incident to them, but I don't think that's enough. As hard working as the DM team is, they alone cannot fix an issue plaguing the enti...

PDK Vanguard Path Changes

There are three traditions of Knight, that focus on different aspects of the class. You will be asked to select your Tradition shortly after taking your first level in Knight. *Knight Vanguard. The Knight Vanguard is the scourge of his enemies, scattering all before her. *Knight Protector. The Knig...

Re: Confusion About Recent Barb Changes

Huh, I see. So, I plan on capping my barb levels at 20; so I'll have +2 passive damage and +11 rage damage, is that correct?

Confusion About Recent Barb Changes

So, I guess I just don't understand the new system; anyone able to help explain? Here's the latest change for reference: - Barbarian damage bonus scaling reworked as to have separate scaling charts for 1H and 2H weapons, with CON damage bonus scaling occurring principally in epic levels. The details...

Wanted to give a huge shoutout to everyone who was present for / aided in some way / aloofly watched Logan's surgery. Logan began as a character I didn't think I'd end up putting a lot of time or thought into, with the likely fate of being shelved early on, but I was genuinely surprised at the lengt...

Kensai Spell Resistance

With the loss of permanent freedom of movement, I really feel the kensai subclass has lost a lot of the momentum it had with the last batch of kensai updates. My suggestion, in keeping with the anti-magic theme kensai seem to have going on, is to give kensai another form of protection from spells th...

Re: Submit.

Gaelan circled Bria, a veritable shark in the waters of his own exultation. He thrived on her misery; basked in it like a reptile sunning itself for warmth. Bria could think of any number of other scaly creatures to compare the man to, but she had lost her spark - the raging fire inside her was all ...

Re: Submit.

Bria woke. It wasn't the pleasant sort of waking up. Not like being slowly enticed to wakefulness by the wafting scents of bacon frying. Nor like a gentle stream of sunlight filling up your room, telling the tale of a new morning. No, this morning - if morning it was - woke Bria the same way it had ...

Re: Submit.

The squeal of a rusty cell door pierced through the heavy, blanketed veil of sleep. Bria's eyes shot open and she scrambled to her feet - or tried to, anyway. Her limbs, deprived of essential nutrients and regular use, cramped and halted her attempt. She fell back to her cell floor, defenseless. But...

The first thing she noticed was the birds. Chirping, singing, and fluttering about on nearly soundless wings. Their beauty matched only by the day itself - a sunny spring afternoon. The trees were just beginning to bloom, and the insects were climbing from their winter homes. The field smelled of l...
