Kudos to the Cordor Press!
Hey, just returning after a brief break, but I decided to pick up a copy of the Cordor Press and hooo boy is it more active than ever. Not only is it incredibly well-written, but every article is setting-appropriate and informative to boot. What an amazing effort taken by Sappo and any who work with...

Re: Shadow dancer shadow mages
There is no reason to take spell penetration feats if you have more than 26 caster levels. You rarely encounter anything with more than 32 SR, and when you do, a well-placed Mords will lower it by 10. If you are worried about being dispelled, 27/3 is still pretty resistant to being dispelled. There'...

Re: Shadow dancer shadow mages
Shadow mages get HiPS at caster level 20 specifically to discourage people from taking Shadowdancer levels because the class is broken in its current incarnation. *Do not take Shadowdancer levels on a shadow mage.* It has absolutely zero synergy. Supposedly shadow mages are being worked on but who k...

Re: Ranger & Dispel CL
My understanding is that once you've cast something from your spellbook, any spells cast from items are considered to be the CL on the item in regards to dispel checks. That was my understanding as well. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm gonna give Rangers and Paladins a wide berth until this is no ...

Re: Ranger & Dispel CL
A very important phrase to consider often is "for the purposes of dispelling CL-" Baron isn't wrong as far as I understand. Duration tends to be seperate from dispelling cl when actually having to think about your dispelling cl. That comment was linked by a "Dispel Mechanics" hyperlink in another t...

Re: Ranger & Dispel CL
But your ranger spells and items used after them will always dispel at your ranger cl. ... I also don't see anything incorrect in that thread either. If you DO use any of your class spells, from either class, then the CL on items changes to what's listed (in parentheses) after the spell in the item...

Re: Ranger & Dispel CL
As for rogue built, ranger is a caster class and therefore mundane cl mechanics are irrelevant. Additionally, if you were a weapon master with rogue levels, your cl on a potion would be based on your current total level or hitedice instead of class levels. Perhaps you didn't read my entire post. I ...

Ranger & Dispel CL
H'ooookay. Hello again. I'm going back and forth between builds for my next character, and while I'm leaning towards 27 Ranger / 3 Bard I have some massive hangups about the mechanics of the class, specifically the fact that any use whatsoever of the Ranger spellbook sets all UMD items to their item...

Re: Ranged (Near) Pure Ranger
How does one even gear a ranger? I'm trying to plot it out. There are too many abilities/skills that seem mandatory. There's Str, Dex and Con (my character is dex based). Skills, well we have hide/move silently, spot, and of course the mandatory discipline. If you want to rune your gear you can't fi...

Feylocks and Enchanting
It would be neat if fey-pacted warlocks were given ESF: Enchanting at level 21 provided they already have GSF: Enchanting. It serves to boost their spell DCs, yes, but also opens up "witchy" (heh) roleplay by, for example, allowing witches to craft superior magical items and offer them to others for...

Re: Current Feylock Build?
Feylocks should be granted ESF: Enchantment at level 21 if they already have GSF: Enchantment.
It's totally (ahem) wytchee to deal in enchanted items in exchange for favors/a bit of your soul, isn't it?

Re: Any specific ruling on the death area?
It used to be strictly enforced that characters did not remember what occurred in the Fugue. Now, things seem far more relaxed. I see a lot of people roleplaying that they were somewhere "cold and dark" but remaining vague about it.
Re: Feylocks
You can be a blackguard of your warlock patron, you know. There's also the possibility that a warlock would make pacts with as many entities as possible. Druid/warlock on the other hand *does* sound contradictory. Making pacts with otherworldly beings is rather counterproductive to the whole "mainta...
Re: Feylocks
27/3 blackguard feylock is better than pure feylock. Your stats are not spread very thin at all. You can still manage 22 con 20 cha very easily with most races/ 30 fiendlock is the gold standard. There's no reason to deviate. Fiendlock is still miles better now with the boost that makes negative bl...

UMD Req. Chainmail of the Holy Knight
Hey, sorry to clutter up the forum with a simple question, but I was wondering if the UMD DC on this was 55 in line with the padded vestment. If anyone could let me know, or perhaps update the wiki with the info, that'd be great!

They scale rounds/level.
Re: Feylocks
Not to mention feylocks are neutered by two of the most common UMD items (heck, one of them isn't even UMD) in the game.
