The issue I have with this trio of suggestions is that I worry they would disconnect Skal too much from Arelith, effectively making it a separate server with very little connection to the Arelith setting. I know this may go against what I said before but.. If the idea of something inspires you, just play it. It's always better to play some concept you're into than playing it safe.

Drow shadow mage is fine, give it a try. If it doesn't work out you can always roll a new character.

If you had a character under that login before EE, but deleted it and the login account was empty, you still can't use it anymore. It seems you have to have a pre-EE character in the vault to keep the login name.

I've thought before there could be a series of questions at character creation to get people to enter these basic details. Make them editable later with a command, have them display before any paragraphs of text about the finer details.

Just to necro-bump. I believe this bug is still present, I have one character who multiclasses against their race's favored class and they are getting less XP for the same quests as my other who has no penalty.

Spellswords are a big no. They can't have any summons which means no SD shadow. Weaponmasters need too many feats to work. You'd have to be a fighter/ WM/ SD and you'd be cross-classing all the skill points which is a big waste. It's just barely possible to do but really not worth it or better than ...

People want beds and a place for their personal fixtures, not just a storage chest. At least I value Cordor's Commons higher than a random Inn room or a vault. I think with the current state of things something like 6 Monk/ 5 Fighter/ 19 Rogue with a quarterstaff or kama (staff is better) is much more capable than a 20 Monk/10 Rogue.

Weaponmaster is tried-and-true and you can't go wrong following the build advice on that.

What if feylocks were able to use Curse Song as if still a bard, but not the beneficial version?

Just a thought but it seems thematically appropriate. I like them as masters of trickery and hexes.

Two spells I do think they should receive are Bestow Curse and Dominate Animal.
