Now, why even these mechanics that serve no other purpose than to lower QoL are even a thing would probably deserve a topic of its own, but at least this way it's fair(ish).

yes, but if we forced dispel CL from consumables to respect their item caster level, consumable buffs wouldn't be viable anymore. it would kill mundane builds. you would see them losing every buff to Lesser Dispel. mundanes rely on buffs just as much as any caster, but the result would be that gish...

If the idea is to force necromancers to resort to Gate and Greater Planar Binding scrolls instead of staying on theme, then this sure would be one way to go about it...

Mummy Dust is needed to get a T6 vamp off the Animate Dead spell

  • the vid says more about biteback than it does about the summon and its stats
  • most Arelith live bosses have regen, which the PGCC prismatic dragon doesn't have (so the biteback damage sticks)

Why not move the Arcane Tower into the planes and make it a themed place for all arcane related stuff?
With primary focus on arcane study, all sort of mage types could kinda mingle there without the pollution of Prime politics.

There might be a correlation between the state of the arcane tower and the popularity of the wiz / sorc classes.

Is overheal really something that even needs a VFX?

TBH it feels kinda backwards when buffs like death ward or negative energy protection give away no information whatsoever, but buffs that merely give some extra hp like overheal or premonition come with massive advertising signs.

Sound lance is saveless, empowered MAv = 62.5
AoE is large enough to catch at least two enemies most of the time, so 2x62.5 dmg twice per round while hasted = 250 saveless damage split between two targets each round.

So technically even stronger than Withering Ray.

Being able to infinispam empowered version of withering ray without any restrictions can clear most spawns by clicking practically any random spot on the ground for 2-4 rounds. Fireball has much smaller AoE, so careful targetting is actually relevant here (even if you can afford catching your toon/s...
