Re: The current state of Wharftown

Did Guldorand, Brog, Or Myon steer their boats in front of Wharftown to try and block Cordor/AMn from destroying it? Did the Elves ever answer Armenius when he declared war on them? Or just hide up in Myon? Did the dwarves march down from Brogendenstein to try and force Armenius into a deal? Did Gu...

Re: Life without Discipline

You can take a few measures to manage without discipline, as a Druid. First I would suggest cross-classing Hide, MS and Tumble if you can manage. Your spells boost hide by a great amount and you have some natural bonuses, and being able to stealth will avoid you a fair deal of trouble in PvE so your...

Re: The ease of use for arelith

The only substantial, practical reason to be worried about HAKs is the potentially bloated downloads that might strain the connections and bandwidths of some people. The Arelith Team has created some really beautiful areas even with the limitations of the base game, and providing them more resources...

Re: Rangers, Paladins, Gish - those caught in between

And to pile in on top of Marsi's query...

The current Ranger paths (both basic, and the two archery ones) have bonuses that stop scaling after level fourteen. Are there plans to change that, so epic rangers get further bonuses from their path?

RIP Orc-Mussolini. It'll be pretty much impossible to match Arakh's level of attention to the Sharps.

Re: Excessive fixture bashing reportable?

The 1 fixture per 24 hour policy was rescinded some time earlier, once they made it so fixture leaves repairable ruins behind.

I would assume excessive bashing remains reportable, however. Go for it!

Re: Feylock Feedback

For purely thematic reasons I'd love it if the feylock capstone spell was infinite Shades. Are they good? Not that much, although swarming enemies with a lot of crippling strike nonsense can be useful. Are they thematic? With the feylock emphasis on illusion...Sure.

Re: How come powerbuilds got so much leverage in server?

I will note that this server's most prominent characters, both historically and even at present are not characters that will resort to pvp as the first resort. A few of them aren't even good builds. Consider Arelith as a storytelling medium. But the keyword here is...an interactive storytelling medi...

Re: Suggestion Brainstorm: Excess EXP.

Generally XP in Arelith is treated as the character's 'soul', the sum total of their experiences, skills and all that. Keeping that in mind, it might be fun to introduce various activities (good and evil aligned) that involve you either meditating, sacrificing soul to <insert evil power here> or sim...

Re: Is it time to bring on HAKs?

One of the biggest advantages for Arelith, for new players, is click and play. Dowload, fiddle with files, and THEN play may slow down income of new players. I've always found that argument to be a little spurious. As SM said, a simple launcher will take care of all that mess for the vast majority ...

Re: Samurai and cleric

You could do the standard battlecleric with one extra feat expended on exotic weapon proficiency. Should work just fine, and if you are going for the traditional samurai (who were also excellent archers) you can do that too, with cleric buffs lending your archery a decent boost.

Re: Weapon sizes

It could be fun to have absurdly oversized weapons that reduce your BAB somehow, so you're making huge damage rolls but at severely reduced APR. I doubt its doable without haks though.

Its like that for all mob summons, they ignore the guard command. Probably a code limitation.

Re: Please, help me with my current character.

You cannot carry equipment and such over. Its called Muling and the system will auto-delete your equipment. That being said, you are at least relatively early in the character and remaking properly will only help your enjoyment of the server, in the long run.

Re: Please, help me with my current character.

Erh, it seemed salvageable until I saw the INT score. You'll probably have to remake. Most combat builds need Improved Expertise and you just don't have the INT for that. Apart from that, as Marauder said. Come on in and ask for a build for your concept!

Re: Back and catching up! Any questions?

Are there any plans to make Arelith feel a little more interconnected with the rest of the Forgotten Realms? I recall some discussions in the regard, and I am not speaking in regards to complete maps and dungeons and whatnot, but it might be a cool thing for both DMs and Devs to run with if foreign ...

I think I can safely say that most of us would dearly like to know: What's next? What's coming up in terms of updates? Its been quiet for a while after a flurry of updates. The lowerdark update is expected, but are there any other fun additions we may look forward to?

I love adamantine being rare. The most expensive should also be the rarest. It has been mentioned before, but this logic only works when the module's spawns are not designed around parties already having adamantine infused equipment. If Adamantine was a top-tier thing that is powerful but not essen...
